USEG is not drilling anywhere in McKenzie and if I am wrong feel free to point out the Township Range and well name. Are they even an operator? If you are merely pointing out a non-operated position you are even more lost on the oil and gas business than I previously thought. As I already pointed out, KOG is in the middle of the Bakken and has prime acreage, EOX does not and is drilling in a speculative area where success is unlikely because it is on the fringe. You do realize it costs $10-$12 million to drill a well right? Considering the upfront investment I expect more "capital raises" aka dilution in the future. Good luck.

The U.S. will surpass Saudi Arabia and Russia to become the world's largest oil producer by 2017 and become "all but (energy) self-sufficient" by 2030, the IEA predicts in its annual World Energy Outlook. The forecast highlights how the U.S. shale revolution is changing the energy sector, although analysts warn that the nature of shale production means that the growth the IEA predicts isn't guaranteed.

That is fine. But the only thing that matters is the location of their assets. KOG is in the middle of the Bakken shale play. Emerald Oil is drilling unproven lands with a one rig program outside of the fairway of the Bakken Shale play. I am in the oil business so I might understand the difference between location. Strategy does not matter if you don't have the assets leased in the main part of a proven play. No hidden value here, just more dilution and suffering. I am sorry if you are a share holder but the facts are facts.

E.D. Hart- Go take a look at Kodiak's acreage compared to this company's (specifically net acreage because unless you own majority you cannot operate) It is not apples to apples. Emerald Oil does not have majority ownership (for drilling) in any lands that is appealing to the players up here. If anything, their stock is incredibly overvalued already so don't listen to any trading at a discount BS. Comparing Emerald to KOG is like comparing a rotten apple to one that is not quite ripe (Kodiak). Kodiak also has buyout potential, hence the reason it is at a premium price right now.

Right that was the other part I forgot raising the outstanding share limit to half a billion shares (major dilution). Guarantee you they will use them all to raise more money for their worthless acreage. Difference between this weak company and Kodiak is that KOG has acreage in some of the best areas of the Bakken and Emerald does not. Seriously they don't even belong in the same sentence. I have followed VOG before Emerald and I implore everyone to stay out of this.

Wow were you paid by Emerald to write this? Emerald Oil has just completed a reverse split and is drilling one rig in a terrible area. Title is misleading and your analysis is pretty off the mark. They are increasing their shares. Mass dilution and further capital raises. Problem is on a one rig program if you miss, your sunk...Everything about Emerald screams stay away.

So because there are so many studies that prove fracking is safe you can ignore those and call us either Tea party or part of a Koch Brothers agenda. You don't know a damn thing about economics. I appeciate the EPA but I don't appreciate them overstepping their boundaries. The courts will appreciate it less when they get sued.

Well it makes sense you are from New York. Is your state enjoying the surplus that North Dakota is enjoying....oh wait nevermind you are too busy passing stupid soda laws. First, controlled extraction? What is this communism? Shall the government control it? Do they need to control your business as well in whatever area you work? Second. Taxpayers and property owners do not eat the cost of "extrenalities" like wastewater disposal. The oil/gas companies pay for ALL of that, what do you think that we get to dispose our waste water for free? Third. I agree state and local governments need tax revenue badly so why do a moratorium on fracking? You understand these deposits can't be opened usually conventional methods. You want oil at $200 and gas at $6 a gallon? Maybe we should import more? Waiting some years to sell the gas...that is messing with all the natural gas companies and violates a free market. This is not amatuer hour Pete, unless you are in the business you need to quit making ridiculous claims.
