  • Enercare: 6% Yield And Growing [View article]
As an income investor EnerCare is a solid monthly producer with little or no competition. Boring is GOOD. Great demographics and automatic monthly utility pay/deduction with a customer based of 1M plus. Need a water heater? Hassle free and no large up front outlay with a few dollars added to your monthly utility bill makes this company a safe bet regardless of market ups and downs.

  • Top 10 REITs For Dividend Growth And Income [View article]
A lot of hard work put into this article. Thanks. The good news is I own three of the top ten companies mentioned. I also own a Canadian monthly pay small cap diamond in the rough that "owns" its market-with no competition and a current yield of 5%. The company, EnerCare ECI:CA is selling at a 52wk low. I consider it a great long term buying opportunity.

Small caps are risky, proceed with caution. Example: STAG and CLDT. They are getting hammered. More pain to follow. And wait til the Fed's start bumping up the interest rate. Personally, I'm going to sit on the sidelines and wait for a correction tha't soon to come and it won't be pretty. jmo

Okay, here I go again thinking outside the box: If you like CORR and HASI you will love ECI.CA ... Brad, I would love you to take a look at EnerCare and offer some feedback. I'm looking at it as an income retirement holding. I only see positive although I often wear rose colored glasses. Here's the latest burp on EnerCare:

I like thinking outside the box. CORR is outside the box. I like different. CORR is different. Given a measurable risk/reward scenario, I’m in and holding as of your first CORR article. Thanks Brad…

Trust but verify … Brad, you must know something others do not. Fidelity analyst rates STAG .07 on a scale of 1 to 10. Anything below 1 is “very bearish”. Why such a large swing between people who know what they’re talking about?

Just took a look at IRS Form 1116 ... it's above my pay grade. I have a tax guy that crunches the numbers for me. Throw in a couple of MLP's and foreign stocks and hope your tax guy knows what he's doing.

Good point on the IRA although EnerCare is an income ploy on my part as a retiree, and with a lot of upside growth potential to boot.

Yes, but it's a wash. Pay one or pay the other. You get a foreign tax credit on this side and your dollar actually buys more on the other.
