  • Why Bond Yields Are Falling [View article]
Yields are dropping because the ECB is now monetizing US debt by purchasing every bit and more of the QE taper the Fed has supposedly launched.

Belgium, yes BELGIUM, is now buying what the Fed has tapered...$200B worth.

Can people not see the scam?

  • The Inconvenient Marriage Of Yuan And Gold [View article]
While I agree inflation is here, I cannot see, "A weak yuan has been at least as bullish for gold as a weak dollar..." The dollar remains the world reserve currency and has much more exposure to international financing than the yuan. That may change over time, but it takes a lot of energy to dethrone the king.

Gold surged initially during the crisis because there was a genuine fear the system would collapse (which it arguably has). That fear has faded and deflationary pressure has led to the massive gold correction.

Only when inflation is a clearly communicated issue will precious metals return to bull territory.

Until then, only way is down.

  • Will Silver Break Free From The $20 Price Range? [View article]
1980 peak of $850? Inflation adjusted, that's $3500. Continues to be the buying opportunity of a lifetime. Manipulated markets don't last forever.

  • Be Long Gold Now; Switch To Silver Later [View article]
Its good to have a little physical, just in case, but no more than 10%. Its an asset which is deeply entrenched in manipulative efforts by very powerful people and won't ever become what many hope for.

Worrying about the paper price is simply for day trading, but that's the most manipulated component. Hard to ever commit to something like that.

Play their game, buy when they buy, sell when they sell...in the end, you'll be reaping the same benefits. Being a contrarian isn't an option in this market.

  • Be Long Gold Now; Switch To Silver Later [View article]
I think deflation will progress and get worse, which means a further reduction of monetary velocity and another downdraft in PMs.

QE was simply a ploy to regain a healthy balance sheet for the banking sector to ensure the system survives. None of liquidity that reached the streets. The Fed is now tapering back, which means we could be close to bank solvency. The bank reserves will go right back to the Fed.

Who got screwed? Savers and normal, everyday consumers...

    Gold to $800 or lower.

    Your new doorstop.

  • Gold: The Declines Won't Stop Here [View article]
    eagle1003,

nooseah has it correct in that wealth is immediately created by raising the price of the core reserve and can balance/offset debts. For example:

A man has $100 in debt and the value of a gold coin in $10. He cannot pay off his remaining $90 of debt without having to borrow more debt (fractional lending). That $90 continues to string out as interest becomes more and more of a burden (not to mention any derivatives). If, all the sudden, that gold is "revalued" at $100/coin, the man has no debt and can pay it off immediately, wiping the balance sheet clean.

Its a last-ditch, fail-safe tool the central bank has in it's arsenal.

    I recommend the following article:

    Thank you, nooseah, btw.

  • Gold: The Declines Won't Stop Here [View article]
If gold continues its downward trajectory (dollar upward), deflation is winning the war. We all know what happens during significant deflation...depressions. The only response by central banks during depressions is to increase the money supply and try to fight back with inflation.

So, if they cant fight back and create inflation (as is the case for the last 5 years), there is only one bullet left in the chamber:

Raise the price of their hoarded hard asset - GOLD. This causes an immediate inflationary pulse.

This will take years, but either way, long term gold is up (dollar down)...the dollar has dropped 95% of its value since 1913, remember.

  • Pan Am Silver cut to Sell at Goldman as silver prices seen overvalued [View news story]
    Brian58,

That's what scares me the most. JP Morgan holds tons of physical inventory and can, therefore, control the price. They can effectively manipulate it down for the Fed. Gold, not so much...so there could be a massive decoupling as silver remains saturated on gold upticks.

This is not a position for them to profit on...its for them to maintain a low silver price.

  • Pan Am Silver cut to Sell at Goldman as silver prices seen overvalued [View news story]
Just another dollar-protective, manipulative effort by one of the Fed's banks.

These are escalating as the prices hold support at production costs and physical demand rages on.

They'll throw everything at it until they have nothing left.

I'll be convinced at 1400 for spot. But good luck until then.

Hope you have some physical, because when it comes time to redeem your winnings, it will be for worthless paper.

    Yeah, makes perfect sense.

Not easy investing when every market is rigged, however, as long as QE is around...stay long.
