  • Apple hire from Tesla points to continued car-team buildout [View news story]
Also I would love to see Apples concept vehicle before they go into any form of mass production.Like a preview at the Detroit auto show or wherever....Feedback is always a good thing beforeramping up production...
Last year, Vogue profiled Ive. In the profile, it talked to Ive's close friend Marc Newson, a renowned industrial designer who now works part time at Apple

Newson actually alluded to their interest, or rather their hatred, of American-made cars in the Vogue story, describing the current designs as a good example of "shit we hate."

When he and Newson relax, they do so by attempting to switch work off—tough to do when you design the world—though designers out for a drink will inevitably allow the poorly designed world to seep in. “Shit we hate,” says Newson, includes American cars. “It’s as if a giant stuck his straw in the exhaust pipe and inflated them,” he adds, “when you look at the beautiful proportions in other cars that have been lost.”

Newson, who joined Apple last September to work with Jony Ive on "special projects" personally designed the Ford 021C concept car and owns four vintage sports cars.

Dm I agree with most of your points...trucks yes, bad drivers yes, esp. elderly bad vision and reaction time and teenagers texting.
    electric motor driven transports yes.
..trans continental high speed rail yes...yes yes..!
All I know I wil never give up my steering wheel, I like having some high carbon emitting asphalt chewing , fuel injected potential 160 mph Mercedes..., I do not drive to the office anymore, a pure recreational transportation vehicle, and this last month Apple and Disney has dashed away any possibilities of me getting a new one..

I do not see driiverless cars, / no steering wheel. I do see driver assisted autos, with heads up display....A year or two ago at the wwdc there was a slot car like track on the floor and the cars went around negotiating where the other cars were changing lanes etc. It seemed somewhat trivial at the time but definitely a clue to where the puck is heading...
.I foresee faster commutes, no speed up slow down , irritating red brake domino effect light syndrome, and rear enders wil be a thing of the past...autonomous will only be possible if every car is equipped with the software and device..
Now my worry, can you imagine car bombers....

Sell off totally overblown, China sniffles and we get the flue..
You are going to have to get espn somewhere bundled or not...
Personally I would like to see Disney sell off espn and concentrate only on theme parks and movies...

If Iger is as smart as I think he is he will buy some of his own shares. Every thing that happens on Wall street seemingly is an overreaction, what a skiddish bunch.
I would be buying here if I had any dry powder.

  • Apple Should Take Advantage Of Rate Pullback [View article]
You cannot bring back Steve Jobs no matter how hard you wish...Tim Cook will never be the visionary Steve was. Steve left Tim with secret projects/ plans that we may not learn about for years or maybe decades to come. Sometimes you gotta just have a little faith.
the share price has fallen back a bunch in the last month but no reason to jump ship, has anything fundamentally changed since earnings other than they are still selling boat loads of product....They are not losing money!!!The savings account is growing everyone.

The company is a cash cow, consistently sells between 40 to 50 million iphones a quarter, pays a small dividend, and is very considerate keeping users information private. I like the devices the software and the ecosystem so does everyone else it seems except for trodden over competitors, bbry being the largest casualty.

Aapl has eaten everyone elses lunch in the areas it competes profit wise, arguementally google has youtube, search, and data mining for directing advertisements for ad sales. IMHO , Google though faces more competition from Zuckerberg in the future than Tim Cook and they know it...

Willy, there is a seven year September crash pattern, hopefully it skips this September, as always cautiously optimistic. Great trades and a stress free life to you and others that have been here for support thru thick and thin over the years.
