They are seemed to be very confident in there Q3 results. The CEO even bought 500,000$ ARO in the open market. Based on the current pricing (EV/S=0.1) & no liquidity treat, It looks like for the next 6 months the upside is much higher than the downside.

  • Dex Media's (DXM) CEO Joseph Walsh on Q1 2015 Results - Earnings Call Transcript [View article]
Does anybody here know the business from the field/strategic POV?

I'm a financier and from reading the transcript, i don't have enough info to judge whether the CEO bullshits us (and himself) with big non realistic dream or vice versa he transforms the business successfully.

    Any insights?

Guys, few remakrs: the bank debt repurchase is low because the co needs money for the restructuring expenses (around 100M$). They don't have (and won't get) any revolvers, so they keep a margin of safety.
Today, SOLOCAL, the French yellowpages co, published aweful results so it may influence DXM as well.
Don't forget that there is a chance, the restructuring will fail. I hold some shares, but today didn't buy anymore.

  • For Nokia Earnings, Don't Expect Surprises Based On Handsets [View article]
I think that the writer made his homework regarding most of the details, but there is not enough integration of the big picture:
The current comparison between the different smartphones isn't important. What is important is the future that is quite clear. Meaning, 3 operating systems that will control the market that is dominant by 3 hardware players, Apple with its proprietry operating system, Samsung with the Android and Nokia with the Windows.
The market gradually realisies it and so does the share price of Nokia.
This is the snapshot of my opinion.

  • OCZ Technology Group: 200% Upside Potential In 2013 [View article]
Ashraf analysis is a great when taking into account what's seen - but in OCZ what's really important is what's not seen & hidden:
    1. The financial reports of the co r faked, so there is no sense to analyze & chart the published #.
    2. The in-house controller is based on the Korean co, which was purchased for 36M$ & not it's R&D team was fired or consolidated with the abroad team. Do u REALLY think that this may be now valued in hundreds of M$?
    3. OCZ acquired 3 R&D compaines, with no revenues which added a huge headcount expenses. I can ensure u that integrate those 3 co, given the absence of prior R&D, is "mission impossible" - the recent layoffs fix part of the problem but it's far from enough.
    4. The chances of turnaround here, given the tiny financial resources, are very rare.
    5. So, at the best scenario, if the co will be successful in publishing its real horrible financials on time (& that's far from being ensured) than immidately after that, it will have to raise money.
    6. U must realize that such a raise will b done with a substanital discount to market price.
    7. If, u still believe to a turnaround story, i suggest that u will buy shares at the offering at a much cheaper price than today.

During the last days rally i wrote 2$ calls on the co shares. I think this is the right positon now.

  • OCZ Technology (OCZ) +3.6% after The Register reports the company indeed held buyout talks with Seagate (STX) this summer, with a deal "almost done on the financial side," but that talks fell apart because OCZ CEO Ryan Peterson wanted a seat on Seagate's board. Peterson's role in the deal's collapse is said to have contributed to his resignation last week. If Seagate is interested, it might have to pay less now - OCZ plunged to new multi-year lows yesterday. [View news story]
Since my previous analysis, i have made more checks & here r the results:
    1. The technology OCZ has came from 3 aquisitions made in 2011-2.
    2. They have increased the R&D headcount very much.
So, i'm much less confident reg the pricing anymore

I have seen previously few comments claiming OCZ is a "label" co. But from checking my sources, i have found that the co has it's proprietry technology for controlers, exactly like FIO & STEC, that are traded for much higher pricings. 1 point to worry about is the incresing inventory levels that may be partly constituted of worthless legacy inventory. Anyway, the pricing is looked very cheap for me.
