Besides being a husband and a father of two young daughters I work full time for a medical professional liability insurance company as a senior financial analyst. I have been here since February 2003 and have enjoyed the variety that the day to day operations bring. I started out reconciling $272M of invested assets and now partially manage the senior account who reconciles the $500M of invested assets. I am also responsible for quarterly and yearly filings in our states along with audit reports and correspondence. It wasn't until I started learning about the investment process at my employer that I enjoyed investments. I now manage my wife & I's Roth IRA's along with my deferred accounts (401K & Pension) through my employer. I also work part time for ZooMN Financial Services, LLC which is the tax and small business consulting firm I created to serve individual and small business clients with their tax and accounting needs. This venture started in college and has grown to 100 clients. There are no plans to grow it quickly but to take clients in from word to mouth as that is the only advertising I have done in the 12 years of business. The plan for this business venture and possibly others is to help supplement my income when I retire from working in the real world. I love reading about small business and investing especially now that any designated reading for school is done. I graduated in December 2011 with my MBA from Saint Mary's University (SMU). SMU is also where I completed my undergraduate degree in accounting. Any further schooling is put on hold as of right now to complete testing for tax preparation and enjoy family life for a few years.
