The kirchener government is inthe process of nationalizing thier premier oil company, YPF and is confiscating its properties, this action is creating financial insability in the Argentine stock market. Also, the govenment is discouraging all dividend payments abroad to allieviate its "balance of payment" deficits...

    Yes! STD does have a DRIP program and it is not taxed by the Spanish Government. My guess is when you sell your STD stock it will be treated as a long term capital gain(loss) by the IRS... No Spanish Taxes... The DRIP program has been very successful..., so I assume they will continue it.., we'll see ?

    Be cautious!!! What's happening in Argentina(as we speak) with YPF and BFR, I'm troubled. So.American economic and political life is far different than what we enjoy in the good ole USA. I would be cautious owning SA companies with a strong foreign ownership. BAX. *PS: I owned Telefonos Venezuela when Hugo Chavez nationalized it. ADR's received 50 cents on the dollar.....

    As I mentioned in a earlier article, Maggie and her husband own a very nice winery(Wildrotter Winery) in the foothills above Sacramento. They turn out a decent Zin. My advice..
    , buy the Zin...leave the FTR stock for others... BAX
