  • Fire Up Your Portfolio With Transportadora De Gas Del Sur's 11.8% High Yield Bonds [View article]
I agree with the above authors. Christina Fernandez is a loose cannon. Investing in Argentina is courting financial suicide. Randy's really sticking his neck out on this one.... BAX. PS: My old boss at Dean Witter & Co(Ed Witter) once told me.., "there's a BIG difference between investing in stocks and bonds(?)...., when you buy bonds, you purchase them with the understanding( guarantee) that you're going to get your investment returned...." I don't think Christina is troubled about this....

  • Caiman Valores Positions For 2013: Colombia, Chile Offer Best Upside In Latin America [View article]
CV: As usual..., excellent well thought out comments. I appreciate your addressing the "nationalism issues" in great detail for this is the big risk in LATAM investing. If your SA audience pays attention to your frequent articles.., they will both save $$ and make some $$. BAX. PS: As you know I'm hiking in Cuzco as we speak and have been in Peru for the past week. The Peruvians appear quite prosperous and there's many new cars, the restaurants are full of people. Life appears to be good for many people..;things are changing in LATAM and they appear to be for the better...

Likewise..., I had the same approach with ALSK until they cut their div. to "0"... Bite the bullet and sell WIN on any rally! PS: Good Gamer: What's the probability of CTL or FTR merging with WIN? That might make sense and there would be great economies of scale...

  • Mexico - South Of The Border Growth Dynamo [View article]
Hale: A timely article and I too agree with your conclusion. Mexico is prospering in spite of itself. I live in Loreto, BCS and have done so for the past 12 years. In the beginning of my residence in Loreto most people were walking or driving around in jalopies(no mufflers) now the town is full of new cars and trucks. I know this is empirical evidence, but it too speaks for itself. Bax
