Yahoo M&A speculation has Zynga (ZNGA +7.7%) shorts fleeing for the exits. Wunderlich's Blake Harper sees Zynga as a possible buyout target for Yahoo (YHOO), whose M&A chief recently said the company is working on two "significant" acquisitions (without elaborating), as the Internet giant tries to strengthen its mobile/social positioning. 16.4% of Zynga's float was shorted as of Feb. 15. I think their games are not to be played on the website but on mobile devices. They play well on both my ipad and iphone. Agree on the rest of your comments: either on their own or by buyout, the SP could reach again above 5

Glu Mobile (GLUU) is acquiring IGN Entertainment's GameSpy Technology subsidiary. GameSpy provides a variety of tools and services to game developers related to online/multiplayer gaming. Glu plans to leverage GameSpy's solutions to add multiplayer and social capabilities to its mobile games. The acquisition is expected to be neutral to earnings near-term. (PR) [View news story]
Agree. I like to compare GLUU not necesarily to other online game companies, but to old toy companies as Hasbro, Lego, etc.Since in 10-20 years, online social gaming might be as big IMO.

GLUU is the best stock in my portfolio. Great company, good games, good growth, have not missed a Q forecast, and they plan to be profitable by next year. Great stock on its own, and also a good buyout candidate.

$DEER has been on a down trend since January 2012, from a price per share of $5.50 to the current $2.40.
If we look at the dividends: They paid 5 cents a share during 2012 in: March 29, June 28, Sept 28, Dec 28. Then they simply stopped.
I searched for news related to the interruption of the dividend: Nothing.
Then I did a search of DEER products: the only links is financial and stock websites, such as this. Not even on Alibaba I find their products.
But what really got my attention is their website. According to it they have: “approximately 2,000 staff,” yet in their “contact us” link (http://bit.ly/OeWyN1) there’s only ONE EMAIL, and its investors@deerinc.com
I did write asking about the dividend, and of course, received no reply.
Almost every link in their site is related to investors, press releases, stock charts, etc. No product prices, no sales department, no external links.
So..anybody truly believes that a real company with a staff of 2,000 people, lists only one email? NO TELEPHONES? No names?
In my opinion, when a website makes more efforts to attract investors than to attract customers, something very fishy is going on.

My impression is that the ZNGA and FB fall is still pulling GLUU down; people are scared of social media gaming, without looking at the positive GLUU numbers and more important, how they have not missed Q forecasts in the past, and plan to be profitable by next year. Im long GLUU
