  • China TechFaith Wireless Communication Technology (CNTF): Q4 EPS of -$0.06. Revenue of $31M (-6.2% Y/Y). (PR[View news story]
This is a big disapointment for earnings & revenue. The smaller competition like ZOOM is outpacing CNTF by acquiring more market share by cutting its margins. CNTF should go under $1 again before it stabilizes. I would have more CNTF, but I do not trust their numbers on cash or earnings configurations. I am buying more ZOOM instead.

Zoom has a P/E of 2.2. Still a great bargain. They consistently make money every quarter & will start distribution of their phones in the USA at end of Q1 2012

  • Zoom Technologies Looks Cheap After Earnings, But Is the Risk Worth It? [View article]
Reply to dad_is_board : You should change you name to "dad is bored & short" . You statement is much the same as racism or stereotyping toward a "sector" that has had frauds.
That does not mean good companies like ZOOM should be included in your random bashing. The NYSE & Bershire Hathaway were reverse mergers. Are they frauds too?
I have personal knowledge that Anthony K Chan ,CFO of ZOOM ,is a world class CFO and honest as the day is long & well educated ( Berkley CA graduate with MS degree) man . Zoom is a great honest fast growing company with a high degree of insider ownership especially by the CEO , Leo GU who would stand to lose more than anyone if the were not honest. Their recent 2010 results were audited by a formidable US auditor and look very good now & even better in the future. Please read Anthony Chan's resume before you spout off & do some real DD instead of making generalized unresearched unfounded slanderous & libelous statements about a good company like ZOOM . Dr. J

Zoom's deal with Qualcomm is important for them to enter North American & European markets with their 3G phones. So far they have been doing extremely well in China with 3G phones, but may double or triple ( or more) going worldwide.
Realistically I believe $7 to $9.50 per share this year yet.

You can answer me now or potentially answer Zoom management or the SEC in court on this issue. How much income has come to SEEKING ALPHA from sources that had short interest in Zoom for 90 days prior to & including yesterday March30,2011?

    WAITING... DJ

Really bad article here. You have wrong auditor for ZOOM for starters. You compare a highly honest company like ZOOM , who just had an independent audit plus SEC approval in JAN. , 2011 to Chinese fraud stocks & cause ZOOM shares to drop over 10% in one day???? Why do you do this ? I have contacted A. Chan about this mud slinging campaign of yours & can only hope they take legal action against your incorrect & misleading information.
I would recommend an immediate retraction on your March 30 article before your liability insurance carrier drops you. You will end up as the National Inquirer of "pseudo stock analysts". DJ

  • U.S.-Listed Chinese Stocks - Gravely Mistreated & Far Undervalued (Part 2) [View instapost]
The March 30 comments by Seeking Alpha of intimating a link between ZOOM & the China fraud stocks was uncalled for. SA naming an incorrect auditor for ZOOM was a serious error. SA needs to retract their statements & potentially libellous statements about ZOOM or be accountable legally.
Zoom has had an independent auditor go thru their books to show they are honest. Why wasn't this mentioned. SA caused ZOOM stock to go down over 10% yesterday & should be culpable for this.

Only two things drive the market. Fear & greed. Losers like Carson Block prey upon invesor fear of the Chinese stocks that are undervalued with excellent profits & growth because he says it they "appear too good to be true". Block is 34 & has failed in his law practice, a hedge fund, working forhis father & in a storage business. Now he will fail at shorting & bashing stocks. He is a dufus.

To many American investors, shorting US stocks seems almost anti-American. So the real frauds who are trying to be "professional" bashers & shorters like Carson Block of Muddy Waters & Ashler hope to be more believable by publicly attacking (but first shorting) Chinese stocks instead of shorting Enron or Madoff's fund. While Chinese companies are indirectly putting American companies out of business with their ridiculously low rate blue collar labor many investors want to believe guys like Block & Ashler who are the real bottom of the food chain.
