Can Cablevision Turn a Triple Play into a Newsday Homer?

CVS is just looking to spend money since the shareholders rejected the buyout offer by the Dolans to take the company private. So they buy Newsday, the stock tanks for a year or so and then they make another offer (at a reduced price) to go private again.

If Charles was going to run this venture I'd give it a decent chance of working, since he's a pretty savvy businessman. Truth is, his sons don't share his acumen (see MSG, Knicks, Radio City, The Wiz stores, etc for proof).

NYT is overvalued. A stock price of 8-9 is more appropriate looking forward. They need some serious reductions in upper management as well a major reorganization which will be difficult due family ownership issues. Too much money is being spent on 'talent' that doesn't add to the bottom line.
