Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah. Lee Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff, oh
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff's gigantic tail Noble kings and princes would bow whene'er they came Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name, oh

A dragon lives forever but not so little boys Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys One gray night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more, And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.

His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane Without his life-long friend, Puff could not be brave So Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave, oh

  • Gain Harvesting Before 2013 Tax Changes May Be A Good Idea [View article]
I guess your correct curreyr someone just awoke one morning and said "What would be a great conspiracy to start? I know, I will get on the internet and make up a blog about IRA and 401k confiscation. That will get everyone lathered up and on the lookout for dirty deeds done dirt cheap. Even though it has no basis in fact, the perpetually paranoid will propel it into prophecy and provide hours of earnest entertainment for the Crusaders for a Correct Reality."
    My bad.

Again, Lucas, confiscation of IRA and 401k accounts was discussed at a national level. As far as it not being mentioned since 2008 is because the Democrats lost control of the House and Jim McDermott lost his chair.

Excuse me, Lucas, but Congressman, Jim McDermott (D) Washington State proposed such a policy imitative. So, confiscation of IRA and 401k contributions is not "conspiracy" talk, but discussing proposal put forth by elected officials.

  • Roulette Wheel Retirement [View article]
I read SA for the general investing ideas. I worked for the Fed. Gov. 25 years and have a great pension with medical. I worked for the State of Oregon for 20 years and have a great state pension plus medical. My wife also worked for the State of Oregon and has a great pension and medical. We both collect Soc. Sec. We sacrificed immediate gratification in our middle 40s and bought an apartment building. It now spins off $12,000 a month in cash, which supports our travel. The money I save and invest will go to my grandchildren for their education, then down payments for their homes when they get "settled". Fortunately, I can take greater risk because I need not worry about generating funds for living expenses. So, my retirement plan is conservative to the extent I need preservation of capital to ensure educational opportunities and asset accumulation for my grandchildren.
