Hey Vico.... "The Voice of Hope in a Country of Despair" I think this would be a great title for your upcoming article here on SA... I agree with Cassina :)

  • Deutsche Bank says Tesla Motors (TSLA) has "only just begun" as it upgrades the automaker to a Buy rating and assigns shares a $160 price target. The firm thinks sustained demand for the Model S and its future pipeline along with the company's competitive advantage over other EV sellers will help it achieve lush 20% margins. Working with assumptions for 200K unit production by the end of the decade and up to $3.4B of EBITDA, Deutsche discounts back to arrive at the $160 PT on a 12-month valuation. TSLA +5.6% premarket to $131.04. [View news story]
Elon Musk's purpose is to change the paradigm on how we travel utilizing green technology instead of depending so much on fossil fuels. He is inviting competition in the EV market which will help bring awareness to the general public that EV's are a viable option to the ICE. Since Tesla is of superior quality he is betting the consumer will choose his product over the few others out there and sales will increase even more.

  • Attention: Tesla Is Not Fisker [View article]
Fellows... such a mean spirited comment to Cassina! As I read her comments I think she was referring to Elon's goals/dreams of having a quality all electric car and soon one that will be affordable for most everyone. Often times dreams come first then the income comes later. Long on Tesla!

  • The Bizarro World Of Tesla Longs [View article]
Loving these SA articles by shorts! I wish these naysayer's would drive a Tesla. The first Tesla I drove was impressive in every way! The Leaf never has impressed me and is not comparable to the Tesla, especially that feeling of taking off like a rocket.... Quietly and not a drop of gas used! Amazing!

neurodarcy.... I agree!!! What happened to our positive on TSLA Randy? I understand the getting out too soon issue. I did the same thing but jumped back in after the stock quickly climbed to 53. Glad I did. I have confidence in this company and their quality product!
What an endorsement from CR today... Love it!!!

  • Tesla's Short Squeeze Is Here [View article]
Manfredthree... Interesting point that TSLA only gets bashed here in N.America... I'm not surprised! I think the ICE automakers are behind most of the negativity as they scramble to catch up to Elon/Tesla. The model S is like no other car on the road. I will be interested to hear how the 100 (leased) cars that will be available in Vegas soon pans out. I just can't imagine how some folks will be able to handle the extreme power/speed the Model S puts out. I'm thinking they will soon become Teslaites like us!

  • Tesla Motors Vs. Clean Energy Fuels [View article]
Bay_area_ws.... Your post is well written and a point that I have yet to hear. Excellent comment about NG spiking up.... If NGV's become popular then surely NG costs will rise.... Just like gas.... we start using more than normal and the price heads up fast. To yet again be stuck with one fuel source (NG) this is not the way to go.

Wow... I thought you were against EV's now you are pushing a Non-existent EV/NGV Toyota! Your claims of hundreds of thousands of NGV's on the road applies mainly to trucks and other countries. I hear EV ads all the time and new plans for more. If NGV was the way to go I'm sure the major car corporations would be moving that direction and they are not.... they are too busy trying to catch up and compete with Tesla!

  • Kandi Vs. Tesla Wall Street Match-Up Revisited: Exceptional EV Business Execution From Both [View article]
Sal.... agreed there is NO comparison here. I thought the it was crazy putting the Leaf and Volt in the same category... now this?!?! A KNDI that only goes 25 mph and has to have the battery exchanged instead of charged. Crazy!! Maybe they could sell thier cars to a company like CAR2GO here in San Diego. I don't see much of a market here in the states for the KNDI.
One quick punch on the pedal of the Tesla and the KNDI would be left in the dust and look like a little bug in your review mirror in a matter of seconds!

  • Environmental Decision: Natural Gas Transportation Or Keystone-XL? [View article]
In my study of the Tesla company and Elon's successes with his other endeavors, I see the EV sales continuing higher and higher. With his SUV coming out in a few years in the 30 to 40K price range and with increased battery range I see the EV market expanding to the "general population". In my area there are many EV/Hybrid charging stations but only a few NGV stations. Very few NG cars on the road. (Are the NG stations free by chance?) Not much has been said about all the mainstream car companies coming out soon with more and more EV's with increased range. It's true that the Leaf and the Volt are a joke! But trust me the ICE car makers are watching Tesla and they are "scrambling" to catch up!

  • Tesla To Turn Profitable This Quarter But Keep Expectations In Check [View article]
Dan F.... your comment... What cars are slated to come out that would take market share away from Tesla??
Very good question!! Thanks for detailing the NON-Existent competition. Well done!!
I see a few Leafs on the road around here (not sure why based on the cost & low range) and often they are going slower than the traffic flow... I would guess they are trying to conserve energy in order to make it home from the mall.

  • Could This One Thing Derail Tesla? [View article]
Stephenpace - I totally agree with the first part of your post. I'm sure that Prius owners are not running people over left and right in NY or anywhere in the country. Im sure there have been a few instances where EV cars have hit someone... But hey people get hit by ICE vehicles all the time. I think one of Cassina's main points in her article was to minimize yet another government mandate on us when pedestrians should take responsibility to pay attention where they are walking. Here in California pedestrians have the right away and they know it!!! We have to be diligent in parking lots as pedestrians walk right in front of you all the time. So when a pedestrian gets hit by an EV, they blame the car and don't take responsibility for themselves.
Your comment about having the NHTSA require carbon monoxide detectors in cars is yet another government mandate that should not happen. I don't know the circumstances of the 2 people in Boston who died, but I don't think that such a tragedy would require yet more government intrusion in our lives to have yet another device installed on our cars.

  • 5 Reasons Tesla Motors Will Thrive [View article]
Amazing article!! So many good points were brought up. I'm quite encouraged by the part of the article that discusses the battery costs going down and the range going up. This is one of the big issues for the naysayer's out there.... "Not enough range" Tesla has the best range of any EV out there and this article proves that it will only get better in the coming years. Someone needs to forward Mr. Jenny's article to John Peterson!
