Excellent commentary.
Comments on Schwab here DF, try down for 3.5 hours during that XLF rally. From noon to 330PM EST we were out. And when the smoke cleared and the rubble piled up, the short positions were a small and steaming pile.

Well, breaking news today on GS and C on losses leads me to believe XLF takes a battering again next week. However, my timing is notably poor so likely a rally. Who knows. I didn't believe when Ritholtz wrote about a Dow 14,000 melt up. One gut feel is that we go lower before we go higher, and that if the underlying rot is worse as we peel back the layers, then see you in 2010 when we recover. Maybe. Just buckle the seat belt. Overall market down 10% from the high for those waiting for a correction, but I cannot yet stomach another drink.
