  • Prospect Capital: A 12.30% Yield With 15% Upside Potential [View article]
Thanks for a well written article. I caught news of the upgrade from Guggenheim on April 10th but was unaware of the two prior ones. You're correct, they make for a very positive trend. I'm long and added a nice chunk recently.

Added to my position on last week's pullback. Gotta love the monthly div. payout and the pre announcement to Sept. is the icing on the currency cake. Yum.

  • Cheniere Energy Partners Offers Little Good And The Bad Could Get Ugly [View article]
Nice pop today for Enron, oh I mean $CQP. I knew I should have added to my position 2 weeks ago instead of paying attention to the apocalyptic Mr. Berger and his silly stance promoting the short position. Hope you got squeezed.

So Bruce would have us believe. I fail to see the logic in his argument. Its a bit of a headscratcher, Bruce.

The housing bubble, the dot.com bubble, Enron, the silver bubble, the sky is falling. Your credibility goes out the window when you have to use scare tactics ad nauseum to make a point. There's a short position involved here.LNG exports is not the latest fad-du-jour as you say. I'm long $CQP and will be adding to my position.

  • SolarCity: No Way To Justify The High Valuation [View article]
Why not go with someone who's got some MOJO. You might not agree with the traders who blindly buy into whatever Carl Icahn's recently upped his stake in, but it happens and is part of trading. Musk's name associated with a stock adds greatly to upside potential.

  • Lululemon Is A Sell, Despite Growth And Profit Potential [View article]
If its not 50 what is it? I'm using data from SA and as far as current PE we're looking at 54 for UA and 36 for LULU. Seems odd for you to respond and not give the correct data.

  • Lululemon Is A Sell, Despite Growth And Profit Potential [View article]
UA's PE ratio is over 50 and LULU's overvalued at 30? There's a short position getting hyped with this absurd sell rating.

  • Lululemon Is A Sell, Despite Growth And Profit Potential [View article]
No way that a company such as LULU with no debt and, in your words, "intriguing growth opportunities" should garner a sell rating.

  • Cheniere Energy Partners (CQP +12.2%) shoots higher, apparently thanks to a plug from Jim Cramer, who sees the MLP as the preferred way to play the Sabine Pass liquefied natural gas terminal, believing CQP should be less risky than growth-oriented parent Cheniere Energy (LNG +4.1%). Cramer also likes Cabot Oil & Gas (COG +2%), which he says may have the most prolific acreage in the Marcellus shale. [View news story]
Being long $CQP I like today's performance, but there's something troubling about Cramer's ability to push stock prices around. The market's integrity quotient takes a beating.

Floyd Wilson proved himself at Petrohawk and I expect the same type of profits at $HK. I'm a buyer below $5.

  • "I would not overestimate retail investors' knowledge of how this business works," says Scott Ulm, co-CEO of Armour Residential (ARR -1.3%). Income fans love mREITs (MORT -1.3%) but can suffer quick losses as rates rise. "We believe mREITs are not appropriate for most individual investors," says Edward Jones' Kate Warne, warning brokers to steer clients away from the sector. Ulm remains hopeful: "As bonds become cheaper, reinvestment becomes more profitable." Beneath a big rally for the averages, the sector is hit again today: American Capital (AGNC -2.6%), (MTGE -1.2%), Annaly (NLY -1.9%), Two Harbors (TWO -0.9%), Hatteras (HTS -1.9%), CYS (CYS -2.8%), Anworth (ANH -0.9%). [View news story]
Typical Edward Jones mentality, wait for the sector to drop 20% and then issue a warning.

  • Eastman Kodak (EKDKQ.PK +17.4%) is now up 55% over the last 2 days on the pink sheets after announcing the sale of its personalized and document imaging units, and providing a Q1 business update. Excluding its $535M patent sale and a $77M goodwill charge, Kodak had a Q1 loss of $175M. Sales from continuing ops fell 9% Y/Y to $849M, and the bankrupt company's cash balance rose by $30M Q/Q to $1.17B. The Digital Printing & Enterprise unit had a segment loss of $8M in Q1, and the Graphics, Entertainment, & Commercial Films unit a profit of $38M. [View news story]
This was the prelude to a classic Pump and Dump as less than 12 hours later Kodak announced that, under their new restructuring plan, these common shares will be absolutely worthless when the company emerges from bankruptcy in September. Naturally, the share price plummetted over 70% today when that news got around.

  • CYS Investments: 15-20% Upside, 11% Yield, Low Capital Loss Risk [View article]
CYS sold off recently when they cut their regular dividend after issuing a special in Q4. It made no sense to me and, I believe, a lot of investors. I held my shares and am waiting for the Fed to ease off their MBS buys. That will do wonders for price/book.

  • Short Armour And Long American Capital: mREIT Pair Trade [View article]
I'll concede that MTGE had a good year coming off their IPO. They have some momentum, but is it sustainable? The short on ARR at this point isn't anything I'd like to try.
