  • Wednesday Rally: 1,500 Or Bust On S&P, 555 Or Bust On Apple [View article]
VIX is dropping all day - it would normally rise for a couple days before the "bust".

  • Is $22 Silver Possible? [View article]
I've been good, thanks! So current pattern for silver is it's in a wave 4 with sited targets for bottom of it and once we see 31.50 taken out therefore higher highs should follow. Metals tend to rise on currency devaluation and now Fed is signaling monetary policy to end sometime this year. Are you saying there is no possibility of w 5 invalidation (assuming we get the confirmation for it)? :-)

  • Is $22 Silver Possible? [View article]
Nice article Avi, i've been following your work for about 2 years and most of your short term calls are outstanding. I get an impression though that EW is perfect tool for identifying short term movements/targets, but seems unreliable for long term direction due to pattern invalidation.

"Over the last several years Federal Reserve printed trillions, the ECB printed and lent trillions of euros and the Japanese, well, they have been printing like crazy for two decades.

The outcome has been a wild ride higher for gold. However, none of that means that gold will zoom to $2,000, $2,500 or even $3,000. What would seemingly drive gold to such heights would be a continuation of these policies.

What if instead of printing more currency, governments allow the restructuring of debt that economies around the world so desperately need? What if the events across Europe become catastrophic?

All of these things would, after the dust settles, make currencies more valuable, which would drive down the value of gold."

sorry to hear about your wife, my sympathy to you and your family

  • Fall Down Friday: Cliff Diving Special [View article]
no magic NFC, as we know, deflation helps to “shake out the excesses” much quicker because it encourages a massive restructuring of debt, writing off of losses, trimming back of the supply chain, shifting of market share to the strongest and most efficient companies that can keep prices down in the future..

The U.S. Treasury estimates their unfunded obligations for entitlements at just over $50 trillion. More credible private estimates from Kleiner Perkins are a whopping $66 trillion.

Now add up present public debt ($16 trillion), private debt ($38 trillion) and unfunded government entitlements ($66 trillion) and you get $120 trillion in total U.S. debt… or eight times GDP.

We clearly have to restructure our massive private debt, our monstrous entitlements and our crazy government deficits and debt. But for this to happen we need crisis.

Only in a crisis will we come up with clear and appropriate solutions.

Neither the Republicans or Democrats can afford to address such an extreme debt situation. That would be political suicide. So a crisis is our only route to redemption.

  • Is Silver Finally On Its Way To $40-$50? [View article]
people who believe that the service they subscribe will give them perfect trades consistently are setting up themselves for a failure in my humble opinion. to hear something is going to some price isn't enough in this business and there are other words one needs to hear like "pattern invalidation", "stop loss" to keep his/her account from big losses..

  • Thank GDP It's Friday: Reality Check? [View article]

Love the way you correlate fundamentals with technical levels on your big chart. As of today's close 4 out of 5 must hold levels are green and you mentioned earlier spx should hold 1384 for 2 days (if i'm not mistaken) for you to see if this rally is real. I wonder about your opinion (from technical standpoint) could this rally last throughout next week and test prior highs?

    Thanks in advance

  • Gold: $2,000 Here We Come [View article]

An idea shared by many westerners is that the character of a teacher doesn't matter, as long as teacher has the information. This is wrong. It is actually the character and personality of the teacher that gives the information imparted vivid life. It brings the knowledge into true being. Thing like passion, enthusiasm, integrity, energy, conscientiousness, care, concern, and sensitivity are not items that can be purchased or pick up in some second-rate public-speaking class...

My point is you don't even know the person and yet trying to hurt him deeply in his heart not even being able to prove yourself with any facts.
