When Will Solar Achieve Grid Parity? We're Already There!

The article and comments are thought provoking and (mostly) well-researched. But I haven't seen any (credible) information on the "refresh" cost for renewable energy (either solar or wind). I've investigated retail warranties on points-of-failure for solar and wind installs; five years seems to be the longest time frame for power-switching (from conventional grid to installed array) and -storage equipment. What is the length of time any given array remains viable? When do solar panels "wear out?" Wind generators are easier to factor because they have so many moving parts...but the durability of solar equipment remains a mystery (at least to me!).
