    Hi HTL,
I enjoy your summaries and find them intriguing and appreciate your dedication. That said, this stock will do what it does and unless you think you have more to learn by continuing to track it, might be better off using the time for other pursuits. JMHO

I don't know where else to put this.
The Turks may give us a surprise soon. Political unrest from the ground level has been building against the West there for years. The animosity is partially with how NATO has treated them as a red headed stepchildren, only dealing with them because of the strategic location. There have been demonstrations calling for political change and a more religious based government. These things have been under reported in the West, but present a huge Black Swan if they turn to Russia or follow history and begin to build another Caliphate or both.

    Hi DG,
I didn't think of the hypothecation or rehypothecation aspect. I hate to show my lack of knowledge in this forum, however, I was wondering what derivatives have been bought and sold to insure the Greek debt and will we see another insurance bailout? Shades of AIG?

    From Minyanville.
"In the late morning, news reports trickled out that Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer and Republican Rand Paul had proposed new legislation that will allow companies to return overseas earnings to the US at a 6.5% tax rate (compared to the 35% rate currently). If passed will generate substantial new revenue, which could be used to increase spending. Markets reacted very favorably to this development because it will allow companies to return more profits to shareholders and expand growth in the US."

More money to slosh around with nowhere to go?

    Hi SHB,
I vote for buying the Swiss Francs. BTW, are there any other currencies pegged to the Euro that may uncouple also? Might be an opportunity coming if there is. I'm not sure what all the whining about the Euro dropping in value VS the USD is about. I remember when the Euro first came out it was 1:1 with the USD. I know how exchange rates affect imports and exports, but as the USD is already relatively strong there is no easy answers to the exchange rate race to the bottom.

    Hi Mr I,
My condolences to his family, which must be in a state of shock and deep grief with this sudden news. From the article, he will also be missed as a respected member of town government. There is no doubt that this shock will also be felt in New Castle and take some time to reorganize.

    Hi Mr I,
I still lurk here and follow what is going on. I discount much of what is said about Axion as speculation. The real value is the general coverage about alt energy solutions and trends. The things we would never hear about otherwise. I know this is the Axion power concentrator, but it covers so much more. My meagre investment in Axion will either make it or not, I knew the risks going in.

As seen in the past, the PRC Army and Navy run their own manufacturing facilities. Many of the large named, manufacturing, construction, heavy fabrication companies are shells for the military. This is part of why it is so hard to figure out what the PRC military budget is. Any and all profits are sucked back into the military cycle (except as needed to maintain the look of free enterprise). The company running and expanding the Panama Canal and the one building the Nicaragua canal are easily traced to the PRC military. We have built their manufacturing ability through our demand for cheap, processed products. They have used this ability to build a very fine military industrial machine. China is a sleeping military giant with great resources, technology and manufacturing ability. Sleep with one eye open, we created a monster.

  • Zillow's Q3 Housing Report [View article]
Anecdotal evidence only. In my area, we never really recovered from the recession. There are many houses that have been and are still empty, part of an unacknowledged shadow inventory by the banks. Housing prices dropped apprx $200,000 in 07-2010. False reporting of inventory has created some of the chaos we are currently seeing. JMHO

    Hi Chris,
You have obviously missed the new rising tide of concern over high fructose corn syrup in everything. It is after all, the cause of all diabetes and overweight children (and adults) everywhere. With our education systems lack of teaching how to read, perplexed parents are unsure how to protect the little darlings.
