    Hi WT,
Thanks for the link. As an anecdotal observational confirmation of the article, I know many people my age that normally down grade to a smaller home that can't afford to (then invest the equity towards retirement). There are still many empty homes that aren't listed yet to try to keep home values up (shadow inventory).

The most puzzling situation is that one of the new home builders has begun building new homes in a tract they shut down after developing 6 years ago. I am in one of the 2 worst economic counties in California (Riverside), who is going to buy these new homes?

    Hi dance,
Cool article and use of vanadium. My only experience with vanadium was when I was a weldor and used chrome vanadium for hard facing wear items like ripper teeth and plows. Expensive stuff that made the wear items last up to 10 times longer. Used in the mining industry for ore crushers also.

    WTB,
Sounds good till you want a pallet from the top of a stack of 4 or five high.

Maybe set up for an automated warehouse to stage at the dock?

    Hi JP,
Thanks for the update. Interesting outcome on the experiment and pointing out how internal resistance affects power at higher states of charge. Might be interesting to know how a 16 volt battery would respond on a purely curiosity level since auto is talking about 48 volt systems. Yeah, I know, not pertinent here, but enquiring minds want to know.;-)

So, if I understood the outcome correctly, the higher the state of charge, the more the internal resistance of the battery? iindy where are you?

    Hi MG,
Been a while, but I have been lurking and keeping up with you. I agree that with the move by the ECB there are too many unknown unknowns making it hard to predict outcomes. We have also seen stated reasons for moves by the ECB (and Fed for that matter) seeming to happen for unstated reasons. Are the folks at the ECB and the Fed being hoodwinked by their own (and other gov agency) rainbow and unicorn stories? Just some random food for thought.

    Thanks for the article.

    WIO and geo,
Getting "the look" at my house wouldn't draw any headlines. It's SOP. Mama is ornery enough to give me "the look" for no other reason than to keep me wondering.;-)

A king or leader may wage war without regard of the masses, but as many leaders have found (Czar Nicholas as an example) they do so at their peril.

  • AMD: A Great Value At $4 Per Share [View article]
I am not sure about the PC market never increasing. Many large companies are still running XP and very old machines. The machines are breaking and MS isn't supporting XP any more. I think there will be an uptick in commercial sales that will include AMD as many companies are going to Win7 Pro with only good enough processors. This means Celeron or AMD processors.

    Hi WTB,
Green wash is extensive in CA. Lots of bluster and ego trips (or a marketing tool). Don't forget that CA is part of the failed carbon credit fraud, just another way to tax things (and one reason industry has left the state). Gotta love the Pols in this state, all show and no go (unless it means OPM in their pocket).

    Maya,
Hang in there bud. California has already enacted the needed legislation (need to see if it is practical tho) and other states are following suit. It will take some time, but even an avalanche starts with snow flakes (and you know we have lots of flakes here in CA),;-)

    Hi Jak,
Just caught your notice on 335 and now understand the situation better, IIRC when Maya stepped down as APH there were a few people working as APH to help lessen the load.

    Hi Jak,
Does this blog have the APH approval? If not I have a problem with hijacking (double meaning intended) the APC format and using the APC series numbers and data. In that case it might be better to begin from scratch, not using data and charts from people that may not appreciate the use. Just a thought.

    Hi RA,
I have to agree about how valuable these APCs are. Partly for the social contact, partly for the info on trends and developments in the energy sector in general and about Axion in particular.

Sometimes the focus on Axion is too strong, it is a two edged sword. In a world where TV takes you through a start to finish story in a half hour to an hour (maybe 2 hours in a movie) it is easy to forget how much time and effort it takes to get things done and the resources needed.

    Hi JS,
I understand your wife's problem and commend her on the solution. My wife's native language is Spanish (Nicaragua) and was very well educated before she came to the US and learned English. She managed to get a teaching degree (and certificate) and 2 Masters degrees then was laid off in the first round of teacher lay offs 5 years ago. She has been subbing and tutoring since. She almost took a position in Japan as a teacher of English, but decided the pay versus the high living costs were untenable. More power to you and your globe trotting family (hopefully no global trots). :-)
