Obama to quickly issue a permit for the northern leg of the Keystone pipeline (TRP +1.8%), citing the need to create jobs and to reduce oil imports from the Middle East. The senators' letter comes just ahead of a protest against the pipeline planned for the White House on Sunday. [View news story]
Additionally, all the prior respondents are not too bright. SAD.

  • They're calling it the "DeMarco Trade," and it's nailing mortgage REITs (at least those who focus on Agency paper) already stung by vanishing interest spreads. Agency MBS paper has been falling in price since the election, as Ed DeMarco's days as FHFA chief seem numbered, paving the way for principal forgiveness, "the mother of all pre-payment waves." [View news story]

  • Almost No One Makes Money From The Stock Market Alone [View article]
The best way to invest is to invest your time in learning @ investing which most don't do. Fear and Greed is so true. Why buy a mutual fund or ETF and hand over fees when you could easily see their most significant holdings and invest directly? The time invested in learning id critical and never spent. Study, study, study!!!! Be prepared to make changes when the facts change. So many people never got out of MSFT because they where greedy and got hurt badly. Energy is what I consider the future "big thing" until it isn't anymore. Inflation will be the next BOGEYMAN. ALWAYS BE PREPARED AND EDUCATED!!!! If not don't invest in the market.

  • Mortgage REITs Can't Deliver? Here Are Other REITs To Consider [View article]
One more....sorry. Do you have a positive outlook for MLP's. I am even stronger, and own more $ invested in them since 2008.The income is tax advantaged, and the values are up between 35% and 50%. Major positions include: epd, line, oks and others. Obviously I like higher yielding positions, and use the proceeds to invest. I feel I have a formula that works, and disregard much of what I read (not you) because the majority is bogud...I do my own research, except for Cramer who is honest and well meaning, but of course he isn,t always right.

As the owner of 10000 shares of NLY I have to wonder what you are thinking: do you have the math skills to analyize the dividends I have earned in the past 5 years? It is my experience that people with no real understanding of the Market make the worst prognasticators.

Barclays upgrades shares to Equal Weight from Underweight, saying at present levels the stock is trading below levels that would be justified even under very conservative assumptions. Credit Suisse also raises shares, to Neutral from Outperform. [View news story]

  • The Obama administration delays a decision on whether to prevent a liquefied natural gas export license for Cheniere Energy (LNG), saying it needs more time to review a complaint that an environmental assessment did not go far enough. LNG's Sabine Pass is the only project so far to receive conditional Energy Department approval to export to countries without free-trade agreements. [View news story]
If Obama is reelected not only will LNG be approved, but so will the TRP pipeline...I think this is a sure thing. Remember the Dems have their share of crazies as well as the Rpublicans: just not as nuts. It should happen; after all it is the future in ebergy.

  • Sunoco Acquisition Closing To Put Near-Term Pressure On Energy Transfer Partners? [View article]
I believe a good entry point for ETP is ~$41, and should be placed ~ the first week in Nov. There will be a great deal of the selling of units that will obviously add pressure to the price of ETP, but when I see the combined balance sheet I will make decisions. Remember, the debt should increase substantually in order to close the deal. The unit payout may be affected negatively.
We should have some idea as Oct. progresses as to the thoughts of the many sellers.
