    • bd4uandu: Whatever happened to Intel TV that was suppose to WOW us this summer?

    • Perkins Cove: With all due respect...I let go of it a decade ago. I suggest you do the same for your own well being. So much better out there.....

    • WheelsComingOff: Needs to hold $22, or else you are looking at $20

    • Perkins Cove: Good one jump.....

    • DAG Investments: i agree with Perkins ... beyond actual losses, consider costs of missing better opportunities while cash is stagnant

    • DAG Investments: one of the smartest investors i know says "if you're gonna be wrong, be wrong quickly"
      8/21/13
    • Perkins Cove: "Stagnant cash" ....that is like.... poop. Right DAG?....grin
      8/21/13
    • DAG Investments: lol might as well be ... if cash is not working for you it's working against you since it loses value every day it sits there doing nothing
      8/21/13
    • Perkins Cove: "missing better opportunities".....pure gold. Alex_p....listen up. You're getting pearls here....

    • DAG Investments: thank you kindly, sir ... just hate seeing anyone suffer through losing hard-earned money on broken stocks ... i remember that and it sucks.
      8/21/13
    • Perkins Cove: Will remember you DAG. Nuts and bolts wisdom is hard to come by. Cheers.
      8/21/13
    • DAG Investments: Thanks again. You get knocked in the head as many times as I've been and you can't help but learn some things. lol Cheers.

    • nclsamy: DAG, I'm following! Great advice! Congrats on your YTD return! Nice.
      8/21/13
    • DAG Investments: thank you nclsamy ... it took a lot of time, a lot of losses, a lot of luck and a lot of tips from much smarter people to get to that point

    • Perkins Cove: (Nickel...we got a winner here ....grin) DAG, what's the 1996?
      8/21/13
    • Perkins Cove: 32% gain in 2012....for a swing trader that's great ! (heads up det9...he's raising the bar)
      8/21/13
    • bd4uandu: By the way, the 1996 in my user name refers to the year I married, not when I was born. From the bio
      8/21/13
    • Perkins Cove: "benefit of past experience". Oh, I like that.
      8/21/13
    • Perkins Cove: And he didn't get no 32% gain trading $INTC....that's for sure.
      8/21/13
    • DAG Investments: i hate to admit, but i owned $INTC, but was lucky enough to get out on a rally with a tiny loss during one of my rounds of raising cash
      8/21/13
    • DAG Investments: i don't do tech at all anymore. if i did, it would be small fast growers like possibly $PRFT since growth is the only good thing about tech
      8/21/13
    • DAG Investments: by the way, sorry @Alex_P i didn't mean to take over your thread ... just try to reply when possible when people comment to me. cheers all.

    • Alex_P: DAG1996, you obliviously learned the lesson hard way. You gained the wisdom on the other side. It looks like it's my turn now.

    • DAG Investments: Alex, Thanks for the kind words. As a youngest sibling, I realized early the advantage in learning from others' mistakes vs. repeating them.
      8/21/13
    • DAG Investments: $INTC is a good comp. likely to do well long term. I just prefer short & long term strength so I fix my bad calls quickly to minimize losses
      8/21/13
    • DAG Investments: And, often more important than minimizing losses, put cash to work elsewhere for gains that can cancel out losses and then some.
      8/21/13
    • Alex_P: $INTC is in my Long term account. However, even if div. are stable and growing, I still have to count on Cap appreciation for long term succ
      8/21/13
    • Alex_P: success.
      8/21/13
    • DAG Investments: Right. If I can sell a struggling stock & put that cash in one with equivalent & growing yield but also 20-40% appreciation that makes sense
      8/21/13
    • DAG Investments: That appreciation not only gives downside protection for corrections but that stock likely performs at least as well as the other long term
