  • CEMIG: 50% Increase In Net Income Q1 2014 Over 2013 [View article]
Ok i think the misunderstanding here is that I received the dividend they paid in May, actually on the same day as it went ex-dividend [I hold them in a CFD account] while holders of the actually shares outright are getting them on 8th July.

As I mentioned I also got my total amount of payment of the $0.6118 per share added to my account on the 8th July where as it seems you guys will be getting it 2 installments.

    I am in Australia btw..

Thanks, I think we are all good now!!

    Go CIG!!!!

    Hi D_r_l_1976

Can you give me a bit more info and your comment.

Judging by what you wrote in your last post we should be or have gotten 2 dividend payments in July.
The $0.40246 per share gross on the 8th July, and another one a bit later on of $0.6118. Although welcomed, are you sure about that??
Reason I ask is that I received the $0.6118 dividend on the 8th July, but the last one before that was on the 2nd of May, 2015 which was around $0.40xx

Am I missing something here or have misunderstood what you wrote?

Great article Steve, one of only a few that keep us update on CIG.

Hopefully some fruits for us shareholders in the long term.

    Cheers

Well anyway, another good sign the company is doing better [at least in share price terms] than it was a few short months ago.

A neat and handy 40c dividend and the share price holding up quite well since last friday.

It's hard to say if it will reach $20.00 by years end, but as we all know the Brazilian market can be so volatile and hopefully a few things fall into place for PBR it would not surprise me if it shot past 20.00 very quickly.

I rate it down in the lower teens as a solid buy for at least the medium term but it's had a good run in the past week or so almost reaching $15.00 now and my Buy order currently sits at $13.44

Holding up quite well in a down market today.

  • Tesco's Price Drop Offers Excellent Value [View article]
This thread reminds of the crap that was spun on the ORAN threads here at 'seeking' not so long ago when it was trading under $10.00. Same type of comments but in a different industry; you should go a read some of it. The smart money was buying and look at it now.

This is what will happen with Tesco I believe and in 6 - 12 months we'll look back and kick ourselves for not loading up at these ridiculous prices.

As one poster added.....investing in Tesco is "suicide". If that is the case then there must not be any safe investment left.

I don't think the bottom is reached yet, but it sure it damn close.

    Let's talk in 6 - 12 months.

Just for those stating not until this and not until that will I "buy", well by the time all the shite has been sorted and put in order, you won't be buying PBR at these levels, which in reality is the major drawback.

I am LONG PBR under 13.50 and comfortable for a medium term play

That's a little different to the notice from CIMIG i got. I jet my alerts from the link Steven has posted.

It made no mention of the ex-dividend date as far as I can see and I'm sure I was sober when reading it :)

Steven, you seem to be on top of all this relating to CIG. What does your data tell you? Do we have a confirm ex-dividend date and the exact amount, even though drl1976 may be spot on??

In the meantime CIG has done quite well in the past few weeks, perhaps this upcoming payment is only one of the reasons. Let's hope!!

    Cheers

    Hi all,

I just got a email about the upcoming dividend which looks like it will be paid on 30th June 2014, but looks like the ex-dividend date will be finalized at the annual GM on the 30th April from what I can see.

    What are you thoughts, comments??

    Cheers

    Great article, thanks.

Judging by the markets response although report not being good, seems a fair bit of this was baked into the price already.

Could this be a base for support??

Let's hope we don't see the 5's again.

I really don't see it as being a gift. Stock split yes, but gift no, as its down almost 30% anyway.

Steven, you mention you got 2 payments? What was your total dividends received?

I only received 1 payment on the day the went EX i think on the 12/12/13 for a total amount of 0.2346 US per sharfe minus 15% witholding tax [I am in Australia].

I open my position in CIG [common stock] on 31st May, 2013.

Should I have also got 2 payments??

    cheers
