Americano: what are we doing? Quote: "It is well enough that people of our American nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning."

I am a retired Registered Nurse interested in biotech and new technology.
I am the Delta Sigmoid (dumb sh__)
I have no idea why people "follow" me, as I know next to nothing, and what I do know is enough to be dangerous to myself and others, I am good at sticking foot in mouth, and sticking up for people, and once in a while I even amuse myself!
It's a good thing I don't manage my own portfolio, I have mad money to play penny stocks, more fun than gambling, but my penny stock picks suck too!
Good luck to all!
Now where's my drink? ;)
I'm a founder of finbox.io, an online stock research platform designed for individual investors and asset managers who care about understanding a stock’s fundamental value. The platform provides a quick sanity check so that investors can understand what they’re investing in and why. Our tools have been featured in Barron’s Magazine on multiple occasions (https://blog.finbox.io/barrons-features-finbox-io/).
Prior to finbox.io, I worked for an investment banking group providing fairness opinions in connection to stock acquisitions. I spent much of my time building valuation models to help clients determine an asset’s fair value and believe these same valuation models should be used by all investors before buying or selling a stock.
I am a busy surgeon with a particular interest in personal finance and investing. My father, a retired financial advisor, taught me discipline and the power of dividends and compound interest. I do not feel it is necessary to employ expensive, self-motivated brokers or managers to invest one's money.
I am in equipment sales in industrial and laboratory markets. As I am getting within 3 years or so from retirement I am shifting from focusing on growth to generating income. I do not reach for yield, preferring a mix that allows for solid growth of the income stream and capital appreciation. I have built a diversified portfolio of solid dividend paying companies who grow their dividends at a rate beyond inflation with 80% of investable assets. I also maintain a growth portfolio of 10% of investable assets.
Retired from 35 years in manufacturing in 2013. Investment style shifts between buy and hold, call writing, pair arbitrage, put writing, depending on the stage of the business cycle. I believe in listening to one's instincts (but not necessarily acting on them) as they are probably widely shared by the market. I particularly value a sense of dread as things begin to look too good to be true.
I am a former private equity and venture capital attorney with many years of investment management experience as a sideline. I've recently retired from legal practice to concentrate on fund management on a full-time basis. I now manage separate accounts for a small group of high net-worth clients.
From 2001 to the current, I have been an investor in distressed real estate and I have provided mezzanine financing to real estate investors. From 1995 to 2001 I was a professional angel investor and consultant to early stage high technology companies in the ares of finance, corporate governance and capital raising. From 1984 to 1995 I was the CFO, COO and an owner of a high technology company that provided financial services software and services. I was a licensed CPA for 35 years, but I practiced as a CPA only for the first six of those years.
i have an MBA from the University of North Carolina. Go Heels!
I live in Manhattan, work too much and have little time to trade, hence downhill. Thinking of cutting my losses and rolling my IRA into Vanguard funds and ETFs. For now I'm in AAPL, TWTR, TSLA, ABBV, GPRO, HOV and VVUS. Mostly high flying losers! The heady days are over I guess. It's 2016 and volatility rules the days. I'm becoming a real sourpuss! :-(
Rick Konrad has been an equity portfolio manager for over 35 years. At present, he provides strategic management consulting to both institutional buy and sell side firms. His greatest joy outside of his family is education, in particular, training young people to become better research analysts, portfolio managers, and financial planners.
Living life making multiplications is such an important hopefully, daily event. As it has been for decades now. Each day does bring different DATA / events which may pertain or not to each trading vehicle/vessel.
The Revenue Avenues are important in this stage in my Trading, and Life, now as well before personally and Professionally . Dividend Re-Investment especially with a Discount multiplies yours / mine quite well in the compounding . Monthly and/or Daily, IMHO, is best.

US Major Gen. Benjamin Butler's monument so reads. "the true touchstone of civil liberty is not that all men are equal but that every man has the right to be the equal of every
other man - if he can."
" UK Premier Harold Wilson:"He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery."
