The demo looks good, no argument. The laser is ready to look good but not to be in production line. Go and check with green laser companies what their real cost and yield are. The problem is not in the PicoP, it is in the green laser, MVIS is pushing this too early so I believe they will not be the ones who bring such a projector to market. I guess working in the investment community and being approached by many companies who want to be players generally qualifies me and gives access to technical folks. I generally don't post on this forum and really put this comment to reply to another comment from the person I know.

I saw both CES and SID demos. The SID demo did look pretty good. Where the author is right is that the green laser technology is not even close to what the market demands. It requires a complicated conversion process of infrared into green and that is where the cost is coming from. Corning and Osram are serious players but are years away from low-cost and high-volume models. This is not a guess since I talked to a senior technologist in one of these companies. As for Novalux, it is a joke in the investment community since every prediction that start-up made since the end of 1990s was false - the only real result was spending millions of $$$. MVIS may have to repeat the fate of Novalux - they went through Chapter 11 a couple of years ago. Somebody will collect their IP for pennies ...
