Thank you for your inquiry, Bob.
Unfortunately, the exact methodology I developed is proprietary. I do plan, however, to launch an online newsletter where interested investors can follow NUCLEUS portfolio recommendations.

    Best regards,
    Michael

It appears the portfolio calculations via gurufocus are based on book values taken from SEC filings. I'm not questioning whether Buffet is an amazing businessman/investor. I do question how outside investors (you and I) are able to invest with Buffet and what returns we would garner. Unless I am missing something, the only practical way to invest with Buffet is through BerkshireHathaway A or B shares. That said, the returns would be quite different for you and I. From Morningstar's website for BRK.A through 05/31/2011: 2001 +6.48%, 2002 -3.77%, 2003 +15.81%, 2004 +4.33%, 2005 +0.82%, 2006 +24.11%, 2007 +28.74%, 2008 -31.78%, 2009 +2.69%, 2010 +21.42%. And Annualized Returns of: 1yr +4.44%, 3yr -3.97%, 5yr +4.35% and 10yr +5.20%.

Could you expound on how you calculated the Buffet annual returns and returns for each of the past 10 years?
