  • Nokia's Under-Performance Is Temporary [View article]
Chris Lau: Just hope, you will be still around in 2017 to explain your estimate by then :-).
I just hope, our fearless leader is smart enough to stay away from mobile phones. I know it is difficult considering what business means historically for NOK, but almost none makes significant money on Android phones and I just do not understand, why a newcomer should be better than most of others.

  • Model 3 design talk [View news story]
I tend to disagree. The most efficient rocket is the Russian Soyuz. It has been working well for decades. It is not reusable, but apparently "mass production" brought the cost down and it has high "success factor".

  • Tesla Motors eyes Germany for new battery factory [View news story]
surferbroadband: not sure if storing energy into lithium batteries is so efficient as you trying to suggest. To store at least part of the "green energy" surplus created during certain period of day one need something bit more advanced than a pack of batteries. Something like this can absorb quite few megawatts upon request.

  • Something Rotten With Tesla? Doubtful [View article]
This guy is just as ridiculous as the stuff about an Indian gigafactory supplied by lithium from Afghanistan. Just wondering, does this web changed into some sort of a comedy club or are we still talking about investment ideas...

  • Tesla's Cash Flow Disconnect Provides A Fantastic Short Opportunity [View article]
PVGO: Actually, that is exactly what I am doing. I took those 100 shares surferbroadband owns and sold them short. Not just puts, but oldfashioned short sale. First I did in September but around 210 bought them back. Second round was right after the Q3 results. It works fine but the problem with TSLA is that this company is not about financial results but about Musk connections in MS and the federal government. By all standard, TSLA is short play, going back below $100 eventually, but one cannot predict the external "non-business" factors. That what troubles me in my short plays...

  • Tesla's Cash Flow Disconnect Provides A Fantastic Short Opportunity [View article]
kesslerblvd: the comparisons with AMZN is silly. To run company like AMZN, one does not need that much of a capital. TSLA needs to invest billions to double production, while AMZN needs "just" another warehouse and cheap labor and the operation can be financed by suppliers money.

  • Tesla's Cash Flow Disconnect Provides A Fantastic Short Opportunity [View article]
surferbroadband: you mean that in March, TSLA is going to show the clay sculpture of Model 3. IMHO, TSLA will be lucky if by March the X production starts.

And I truly believe, that there is huge inflation of TSLA promises. So it is likely, that the trick with a deposits wont work this time. Quite few EV model is on its way and a consumer has no reason to commit to a fiction, which may never happen. Additionally, this time there is a potential risk, that TSLA wont make it and will go bust. In that case, all deposits are lost as these are not guaranteed by the FED.

  • Millions of cars the talk from Tesla Motors [View news story]
scottinno: TSLA isn't the future but EV cars may have a chance.

Also please note, that the electricity wont be for free (on your trips) forever. you will pay for it as you pay for gas now. And the government is going to tax it too. The free lunch of today is because there are just relatively few EVs on the road. So you better consider some sort of tax similar to the one applied on petrol on EV in your financial calculations.

If you consider, how capex intensive TSLA is, I just don't see, how Musk can get over 500k annually without substantial dilution of share value

  • Western Lithium (July 2015 Update) [View article]
Nothing serious, just someone was pumping the stock. Now it is coming back to normal. In a week time WLC will again be available for $.20/share.

Maybe the management went to a training course of MS called "how to optimize share price prior selling more shares to public" :-) They regurally train TSLA management on this subject.

  • Tesla Motors (TSLA) Elon Reeve Musk on Q3 2015 Results - Earnings Call Transcript [View article]
This wasn't a conference call, but a tragedy. I am probably from a different planet but half of the questions seems to me totally irrelevant to the financial results. Is any of those guys interested in the PandL or they just ask questions just from a curiosity? Nobody cares, how it is possible to deliver 19000 cars. I am glad I did not listen to this BS yesterday.

  • Disruption in the auto industry from east to west [View news story]
The fact is that existing fuel consumption (or half of it) just cannot be replaced from existing electricity infrastructure and chargin during night will help only partially offset the problem. I am perplex, that you just dont see it. Therefore widespread use of EV cars is just fiction unless the economy changes a lot. And these changes dont take days but 15-30 years to happen.
