Will Germany Transform Itself? Does It Want to? [View article]
Interesting and good article. It seems that by culture our thinking is too dedicated to compare. Yes, we have some common ground to do this, like we are in a global economy or humans are all the same but, when we develop economic architectures we can't do it. Take for example regions, the US is an agricultural or commodity nation like Brasil Argentina or so. Germany, Japan, France are Industrial nations. Now, look at the influence of world peoples perceptions. These and much more has a great influence on Exports and there are much, much more differences to look before we can compare.
Western Canadian Coal's Cambrian Acquisition a Smart Move - Paradigm Capital [View article]
I wish this analyst is correct. I am long with this company and I have noticed that Cambrian and Western seems to have a management connection for a long time. Something that I do not feel quite confortable and I know that it sound good to diversify the buseness but why was Cambrian cash strapped? Maybe western is just giving a hand to itself since the main stock holders are the same in both companies and the Cambrian side of the buseness may not be profitable for a long time. The estimated target on the stock tell me that western may have bought a lemon. There was not any positive response from investors when the news came out and the share keeps fluctuiting as it was without Cambrian. We should not forget that nine month ago the Western share price was way over Ten dollars and until now they never had luck of buyers for their coal and at a very good price.
Federal Gas Tax Increase a Definite Possibility [View article]
Michael thanks for writting about this. At least this idea is in the right direccion however, I do not think the thought you present is the one to use. No! not in my logic and I do not understand why most people don't see what I see. Forget about tolls, tax on licenses or other, just go to the point where it make sense. Tax oil. Let say 100 % on any increase over $50 dollars a barrel. Why? No matter what way you look, this will benefit us because regarless oil will increase in price and if we do not do it, the canadiens, the arabes and the other foreiners will get our money. (In most cases the multinational wealth is concentrated around just a few} We need to reduce consumption, we need better vehicles so we do not carry death loads, we need to make cities smallers, we need to innovate on public transportation and housing so we can live together and let the ground around the cities to produce. There will be other measures to take, for example industrial or veihicular consumption of natural gas or liquid propane, tax them extra in the same way when they use these because gas need to be primarily for homes. Please let other to see the overall picture because as today individually our minds are brain washed by this psicology of consumerism and politics.(080109)
3 Things America Needs to Do to Get the Economy Back on Track [View article]
How about changing americans pride? world wars are over. This is the twenty first century and America must adjust to a global economy where the dollar can't be a pattern through the world. Nor our economy can be a pattern either. Nor, we should be savior of western world or the one that exploit the rest of humanity by multinational companies specially on third wold countries. Neither we should accept Chinise or any other large economy that do not play fairly. We are humans like anybody else on the world and we should encourage respect and world laws against personal greed, explotation or abuse by disregard.
Pachanguero (Colombiano I guess) Yes! this guy Mark is good and I like how he beats up the so called experts. However, I would like him to include WTN.TO in his comparaison chart. That may bring second thought on his preference.
Dow at 8000 Is Not Out of the Question [View article]
The article is good to read however, it remaind me an scary story from childhood. 8k, I personally do not believe it and neither my common sense, not in an election year and if it goes that bad the big change will be to free capitalism into something else.
In Which Direction is the Price of Oil Headed? [View article]
The extreme high price of oil in the USA is only due to the fall of the USA dollar in America. So, this article is misleading and most other articles everywhere else in the states seem to be avoiding the real true. I wonder why? I believe that many people should know that oil is a global commodity and what happen In America is not the same world wide. Take a plurality of ten or more currencies and find the real increase for the price of oil.
Interoil Corp.: Massive Drop Presents Huge Buying Opporunity [View article]
I like your point of view. I am optimistic as you are about IOC and the ElK2, however, I respect the thousand of people that did dump the stock. Most of them are not inexperts and they do find something not good with IOC or its management. Mainly, I believe that they are minimizing risk and not gambling, so they want to hear or read something solid or nothing at all. Jaime F. Pozo
