Thanks for the article. I'm long in IRA. What do you think about having the dividends purchase more stock?

  • Update: General Electric Continues To Regain Its Footing [View article]
Is this the same as thanking them for doing their job? This is not a hometown soccer team. They can afford the best and the brightest so what is taking so long? I'm long for the dividend in an IRA but really short on passing out medals for overall performance.

  • Is It Time To Consider General Electric? [View article]
I'm a post 2008er and retired. I own GE in an IRA. I'm going to hang in for a few more years to see what 2016 brings to US getting back into manufacturing, space and technology leadership positions.

Three areas GE could break out are: Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), Nano Technology and Technical Skills Education.

  • General Electric's Latest Discovery May Transform The LED And LCD Display Industry [View article]
I'm long and have been buying a bit more recently. I'm not a sophisticated investor but I get GE reports FREE newsletter every day and am constantly amazed by all of the new technologies they are piling up. With the growing Skills Gap / Skills Shortage in manufacturing two areas to watch are the Maker Movement / 3D Printing and workforce development / education . With GE's depth of technology and training resources they could become leaders in helping the nation to rebuild and reconfigure advanced manufacturing while at the same time improving educational pathways and outcomes for our nations youth. Both of these areas are loaded with strong bipartisan political clout, national good will and most importantly bottom line favorability.

  • A Shift In The Fueling Paradigm Is Coming, Driven By Tesla Motors [View article]
Tesla, EM, is as much about innovation as EV's. EM's innovation will have benefits far beyond Tesla. He is doing the same thing with SpaceX and SolarCity. It's all about electricity from the sun. √out this video about EM

  • Analysts weigh in on Tesla's gigafactory; BAML reaffirms $65 PT [View news story]
800 mile battery = end of ICE. I believe this is EM's goal with giga factory. Lots of R&D not just more cheaper LI batteries. I believe Nanotechnology and Graphene will play a significant role . I'll bet new batteries will not be just for TESLA but will be used by Solar City, SpaceX and other manufacturers looking for longer life, smaller size & lighter battery designs. EM always plans on multiple levels which lowers risk and increases potential gains. This may have been what the recently reported Apple discussions were about?

Maybe the discussions with Apple were 180 degrees from what everyone thought :) If EM figures out an 800 mile battery that is lighter and faster to charge ICE is history. I'm glad EM has not left for his Mars colony yet. We still need him here. Great interview with EM Enjoy

  • The Twitter Post-Earnings Trade Pivots On Increasingly Negative Sentiment [View article]
We use Twitter to announce content curation posts to other social media like Pinterest, FB and Scoop-It. Periodically we use Twitter as SEO for our website. #Hashtag use has helped us to grow Twitter "real" followers 5-10 per day. I'm seeing more and more manufacturers now getting twitter accounts. My guess is for B2B marketing. We do a very minor amount of promoted $$ tweets right now. However, whenever we do it has a significant effect on follower growth. I'm sure down the road we will do much more.

I'd be interested to know what percentage Political Ads make up of Twitters income stream. 2014 & 2016 should be huge for social media as the Rep. party is now figuring out how to best use SM.

Trying to be like FB is not being different. Twitters power is in brevity and link redirection. What twitter lacks is images. Twitter needs to buy Pinterest where images are king.
