I am a retiree with a portfolio of dividend paying shares plus a small amount in bonds with various maturities. Mainly I prefer to invest in companies with low P/E ratios, above average dividend yields, solid balance sheets, and managements of good character. Occassionally I'll take a flyer on an undervalued stock but on the whole I prefer the steady and reliable.
I follow a (hopefully) disciplined value investing philosophy in my investments. I am always looking out for good businesses trading at a discount to fair value due to temporary market stress or investor panic.
Establishing dividend income by accumulating shares in MLPs and well-established companies with dividend growth. A couple of growth plays as well for future use (i.e., capitalizing on cap. appreciation) in my MLP holdings.
I'm a Baby Boomer, a Child of the Sixties. I have an undergraduate degree in Business and Real Estate and two advanced degrees from a prestigious SoCal University which would not accept me today. I have spent most of my life analyzing financial information and company management teams. I am a problem solver by nature and I am left handed so I am a right brained thinker.
