I am two days away from being 77 years old and consider myself an equal of John McCain, who is five months younger than I am.
I love trading stocks but have been highly unsuccessful, losing significant amounts of money in the Dot.Com debacle and the aftermath of Lehman's going under. I am retired now and can devote full time to investing but I am going to need help from my Seeking Alpha colleagues. I am very rusty at this point. In circa 2001, I bought stocks and watched them run up and run down. In 2006/2007 before Lehman's went down, I accumulated $200K playing options in technology and energy stocks, and again didn't realize the effect that Lehman's would have on my options trading strategies. For around a
grand a year, I was getting advice from option traders but didn't always protect my investments from a downturn like they did. Now I have a significant long term capital loss that I would like to reduce.
