Apple owns this market. The 'unlocked' phones are not hurting Apple, they are making it ludicrously profitable to open business in these as yet virtually untapped markets.
Finally, Apple has far more going for it than the iPhone, or didn't you consider that when you lost all that money on your calls?

Hey Microsoft, I've Got A Better Idea [View article]
So you propose they buy another network? For a company that was convicted of illegal monopoly, and not even punished, they surely should not be allowed to buy other major corporations, that's just insane.
Under The Radar News - Thursday [View article]
Sure, it could sell 18% less than they thought it would, but how, exactly, is a *new* model going to drag down sales of existing products? That just make no sense whatsoever. Enlighten me.

People whine that they need instant 'push' email. There is no such thing really. Outlook is not internet based email, it's merely a closed circuit email. If you send an email to anyone not on your server, it goes through REAL internet protocols like POP3.
Nokia N96: Where's the Touch Screen? [View article]
Obviously Nokia needs a lot of time to figure out how they can possibly compete.
Three Reasons I Chose Microsoft over Apple for Home Media [View article]
Why would anyone need a DVD player in every room when the Apple TV does such a great job of wirelessly sending the media? Don't you know how to convert a DVD?
iTunes does check for gapless playback and album art, but so what? It's multi-threaded, it's not tying up your machine. Would you rather that they just didn't tell you what was going on? That happens very rarely, usually when you are in an account that has not been used since the machine was updated. It's not an issue, though I guess you had to find something to complain about.
Ed Bott an expert? That's a joke, right?
The Inconvenient Truth About Current TV's $100 Million IPO [View article]
Al Gore won the majority of votes in 2000. Too bad the electoral college overlords stole the election from the people. Why do you hate this man so much? Obviously your man won. Why don't you go to Iraq and fight his war for him?
Apple: On an Innovation Treadmill [View article]
You are living in a dream world. All the Microsoft techs are running scared to death of Apple. They are literally freaking out in total FUD mode, but it's not working, Apple is rapidly gaining marketshare. Just last summer, no one would believe it, now already no one will deny it. Real people (including the bosses in charge) are waking up to realize what a total and utter sham Microsoft has pulled. Microsoft has always been devoid of ethics, they have screwed their 'channel partners' time and time again. No one likes Microsoft. No one.
Apple has totally eclipsed any OS that Microsoft could ever produce. They have also been quietly building their own Office replacement. Every application on the Mac can read any of the proprietary MS Office formats, even the new formats that Microsoft has so desperately shoe- horned into Office 2008. Microsoft programmers are dullards that only ever COPIED (badly) the work of others. That was enough before, but it's not enough now.
The other shoe is about to drop. The only reason the Apple stock has dropped is because it's a great time to reload. I think the reloading began today on myriad new rumors each of which holds far greater potential than Microsoft's old routine. Time for Ballmer to do another 'Monkey Dance' and throw some more chairs.

Also, the monthly cell charge of $59 is quite reasonable, and paying a similar price for some old tech such as Blackberry is laughable, especially when RIMM gets $0 per month from it.

Linux Creator Torvalds Calls Apple's OS X File System 'Complete and Utter Crap' [View article]
He's put a lot of work into his extended filesystem. It's really not helped Linux much though, and Apple is already including ZFS (arguably a much better system than ext2 or 4) on their development tools (included with OSX.) Apple still support HFS+ because without it a lot of the legacy stuff will not work (classic) but they already ditched classic with Leopard, so I expect to see ZFS take off probably by the next major point release. He's blowing a lot of smoke.
The Markets' Shooting Spree [View article]
Used to be Windows had more software. This is about to change as Apple ties iPhone/iPod development to OS X. Besides, we all know Apple runs windows better than Dell, HP or any of the various, generic part assemblers out there. PC is a commodity product.
But stocks are a game to make money, it's not about what the company is really worth, it's about who is going to buy and why. Everyone is looking to make as much as possible. When the stock gets expensive, like Apple at $200, you have to think if you would find that an opportune time to buy. If not, perhaps it would be wise to sell and reload later when the market sells off Apple to cover all their other losses.
