Cramer's Stop Trading! What the Dell (11/20/09) [View article]
Dell should take his own advice (for Apple some years ago) and "sell the company and return the money to the shareholders).
HP isn't much different. All PC companies, except Apple, are merely slapping together generic motherboards and shoving the horrible Windows excuse of an operating system on it. The do no real development in hardware, and have never added one iota of value thru software. It's really ironic that we even consider them computer companies at all.
The William O'Neil Strategy: A Quest for Upside Surprise [View article]
Apple might be distant second in terms of marketshare, but they are making far more profit per device. Also, no one is using any computer tech that was not derived from Macintosh.
Apple will end up taking a huge chunk of the computer market. In terms of profit, they already have 91% of the market for computers costing more than $1000. IOW, they already own the high end market. I think they want the rest of the market as well, which should be easy considering it's the high margin market that everyone is after and they already have that.

The same reason you always give up on a horse. It's lame.
Amazon, Apple Stock Going Vertical: This Never Ends Well [View article]
FUD, pure and simple, someone wants to buy in cheap or is shorting, no doubt.
As the previous comments stated, Apple is simply NOT overvalued. Do you have any idea what the earnings are going to be when they change accounting this quarter???
Reminds me of all the numskulls that thought it was a 'premium' brand that 'no one would buy in a recession'. Which was totally incorrect, they sales have gone UP during the recession.
If Android's Going to Compete It Needs a Real App Store [View article]
Android is an also-ran, wanna-be, with no app store, and no iTunes store. There is no way it's ever going to catch up and even if it could, Apple would have a better model out.
Apple probably makes more on the grey market phones, and has to offer no service for them since they are not official product. It's a win for Apple.
Still, I think China Unicom might end up subsidizing more of the iPhone to compete better with the grey market.
While it's still very expensive for the average Chinese consumer, there will be less expensive models coming out as time goes on. I figure it's about time for the iPhone nano or iPhone classic, etc... probably next year sometime.
Four whole weeks to get approved? Whine me a river. Apple is doing EVERYTING other than the actual writing of the app. Marketing, hosting, delivery, billing, etc... etc... etc....
Actually, you can run anything you want on your own phone. What you can't do is put any Windoze type trash on the app store. Big difference there.
You can jailbreak your phone for nothing and run whatever you like, your own stuff, other illegitimate stuff. Or, you can pay $99 for the dev kit and run whatever you write on your own phone. Knock yourself out. But if you want it on the *app store* then Apple gets to review it first. It's their store.

iTunes is the clear leader in micropayments. Have you even use iTunes?? You never have to use a credit card after the first time. Paypal isn't even an option.
You are going to. See a whole lot more affordable content on iTunes, books, newspapers and magazines most likely.
Apps can bill you iTunes account. In a year or so, you might use your iPod or iPhone as a wallet for small purchases, things for which you'd rather not use plastic.
Uh, guess again, every trader doesn't have a flakey browser caused by a flaky OS. Your problem is you are running Windows.
Try running Firefox or Safari on a Mac. And you can also easily run any windoze software you have to have in another window. If that is not particularly flaky (other than running under Windows).

I'm pretty sure that most of Apple's best jobs are in Cupertino. Also, there are a lot of sales and support jobs in Austin TX and in the retail stores (most of which, by far, are in the US). But I'm sure what you are saying is true for factory jobs, assembling hardware, most all of which, of course, is done in China.

"I weep - with laughter - as I recall how everything Apple has done since 2001 (from the iPod, to the iBook, to OS X, and especially the retail stores) has been doubted and called out by bloggers and experts as "doomed to failure/irrelevance", only to see the company's stock price rise several thousand percent and total global domination of the consumer electronics market in areas it chooses to compete in. Armchair anaylsts indeed - please, someone pass me an Advil (not an "Advill" please note); I've got a headache."
Agree 100% with this statement! Julian, your comments are dead on.

@ Techtrader:
I know your posts have no basis in reality, but you ought to know that Apple just refreshed literally ALL of their Mac (not MAC, BTW) product line over the summer and fall. There is nothing older than, what, 4 months?
