I agree with Tdot to some extent. However, it would not seem unreasonable to put a technology firm in the DOW. BUT, it should not be Google, as Tdot said, they don't produce anything tangible. I'd vote for Apple or Intel, either of which are much more 'industrial' than Google.

Go Apple, taking MSFT market away from them, both companies deserve this turn of events, and with iPhone, iPod, iTablet? (september?) where MSFT has absolutely nothing, it's only a matter of time.

I hope MSFT does go in debt to buy Yahoo. As if MS didn't already have their own failed search division, and failed internet division.

Expect a sucker punch from Apple about that time. Apple has in it's skunkworks, a dumbed down version of OS X that runs on any generic PC. It has far more going for it than any version of windows, still leaves a reason to buy a real macintosh, but could totally destroy MS's marketshare within months. Microsoft still has the toy business to fall back on with the Xbox line.

There is no one even close to having an iPhone-like product. Sure, there are tons of imitations, but they are totally non-functional, for people like you who have no idea what it's about, and really don't even want to see for themselves. Most of us are not like that though.

Well, you can certainly IM on an iPhone, even an iPod touch already. It's just not a built in feature yet.

I believe this is because Apple is planning to release video chat on the next gen iPhone. Finally we will have our video phones... just no flying cars.
