  • Bank Of America: Continued Positive Steps Make This Stock Even More Compelling [View article]
    great business model

bac should be thinking how to execute; ie private sector partners to put significant equity in this--see buffetts idea on 100,000 homes

this is a far better way than al or nothing disposal selling off of assets

the boom in rental good/ rebound in sales good

selling at 25 cents on the dollar not good

this is an idea if adapted, borred by the other banks that could be a real catalyst

also at some point home ownership iwll occur to some people as opportunity never coming thier way again; this moden world moves fast..japan nuclear meltdown not even top story of the year

a real recovery by that i mean a real bull thwe true value of the money centered backs could explode/nobody thinks theres ever be a bull again.......hey if its 5 years away and runds for say 10 years

  • Despite Bank of America's (BAC +3.2%) latest denial of any capital-raising plans, WSJ's David Reilly thinks Brian Moynihan will need to consider taking advantage of BofA's recent share-price strength. "As painful as dilution is, the bank would still be highly geared to a U.S. economic recovery... a stronger balance sheet could actually put more wind under the stock's wings."  [View news story]
    You heard it here first

Moynahan has done a fantastic job; he gets no respect

great strategy great execution on a situation he inherited No offering

No rush on div or buy backs

delay the dividends and there's the capital raise without dilution

you want a 1.00 a year in dividend of 5.00 in cap appreciation

  • Bank of America (BAC) is exiting the international credit card business, selling its $8.6B Canadian portfolio to TD Bank (TD) and planning sales of its U.K. and Irish holdings. A cynic might attribute the move to a troubled lender unloading assets on the cheap to raise liquidity. Nevertheless, shares +3.3% premarket.  [View news story]
it is predicted that all holding companies are gonig to be smaller

increased regulation at trading at vast discounts makes sense to sell assets that are non core

going over well at plus 8%

the down draft vastly overdone treading as though its heading for chapter 11

wonder the value of the EU assets mentioned

also dillution was a story with china construction bank...lowering the value of the bac stake so they might decide to slow down on that one--no insight into that one

also the meeting with geitner was interesting/ i imagine they are wanting to get to the same status a jpm etc --out of the dog house

  • TARP is alive and well, but you might not have noticed. Yesterday's news that Fannie Mae (FNMA.OB) paid Bank of America (BAC) $500M for servicing rights to a bunch of bad loans is "back-door TARP," Abigail Field writes. After seeking its own $5.1B infusion just last week, where did Fannie Mae get the money to do BofA the favor of buying those rights?  [View news story]
how does anyone know the quelity of the mortgages tarp earned money for govt/ wheres the perspective on tarp

  • Bank of America (BAC) nearing $8.5B settlement with investors who lost money on mortgage-backed securities. BAC +2.7% AH. A deal could embolden investors to seek similar settlements with other major U.S. banks.  [View news story]
