7 Agri Stocks To Buy; Short Corn, Long Soybean [View article]
How would you play the CORN, SOYB and JJG. If beans and corn are each 40% of JJG, + CORN is at 50 and SOYB at 29, what ratio would you use? (-)3 CORN, (+)5 SOYB and (+)2 JJG ? Or do I have that wrong?

Better "kooks" than communists. ******** When a group of homes is about to be affected by a rising river, we don't put sandbags around the most expensive 3 houses. We all get together and sandbag one long dyke to save as many houses as possible.
That isn't co-mmunism, that's co-operation. Helping to share your neighbor's burden has always been an American attribute
Blood In The Streets, Spain, Part 3 [View article]
To stocknerd: The Spanish do not take 3 hour lunch breaks, they take 4-5 hour work breaks to eat and rest during the hottest part of the day. They go back to work at 5 PM and continue working until 8 - 9 PM This is a good alternative to air conditioning in a country with 40C+ (105-110F) mid days.
Should Minimum Wage In The U.S. Be Cut? [View article]
All of you who disagree with Erik are forgetting you live in a capitalistic society. Are you saying house prices don't fall when the population has less $$ to spend? That restaurants won't create lower priced meals? That stores won't lower prices to meet the reductions by the competition?
Never heard of Wallmart 'rollbacks'? Auto manufacturer's 'rebates'?
If the federal government reduced all its salaries, private industry would do the same. Prices would decrease, companies would be more competitive and, as exports rise, so would employment.
Erik, keep up your great work and especially your posts on "short possibilities"
Should Minimum Wage In The U.S. Be Cut? [View article]
If I were the dictator of (plug in your favorite country) there would be a general reduction of all federal salaries. Every single person, anyone whose income is obtained from federal funds. The president, the politicians, doctors, nurses, police, professors at the universities, everyone.
The reduction would be done on a sliding scale, 35% for someone earning 200,000+, right down to 5% for 25,000+
Anyone who has been in debt will admit you can not borrow more to get out of your difficulties, you start reducing your expenses and use the savings to pay off the highest interest debt (or invest in job creation if you are a country)
Does a University dean really need a salary of 200,000? Does the head of the post office really need 500,000? Why? Because they are that valuable to our society? Or because all the others in their position have that salary?
Bravo Erik ! I don't necessarily agree on 5% of minimum wage, but on reducing federal wages YES!
