  • Modeling Share Prices: Advanced Micro Devices [View article]
    @melonnnn,

    Ashraf has been trying to "put nail in AMD's coffin", "Finished" them off for long now but he blown up his own credential instead.
    At least Ivan is trying some "curve fitting" to convince us as latest model but to be honest, I think your coin flipping statically has more credibility.
    lol

  • AMD - Building Foundations For Mantle And Shareholders [View article]
    Tom,
    Thanks for very good article once again.

    Sean,
    Yes, wonderful closing point. He has been "Finishing", "terminating", etc. AMD for long time now. He has lost any credibility after deliberately distracting the facts. JJ, Tom, yourself and many readers pointed out very clearly these deliberate act of fact changing both on SA and Motley.

    To contradict his so-called article, I have been a long time veteran of both AMD and Intel. I also teach technology and when it comes to employee rating, the happy ones usually won't even bother rating.

    I still remember when AMD's Jerry invited Faith Hills in biggest AMD celebration and those of quarterly celebration. Never experienced those culture in Intel despite huge quarterly profit!!

  • AMD: Let's Look At The Only Thing That Matters [View article]
    @Meir,
    Well said indeed! As you stated, the fundamentals are basically different and unfortunately these so-called analyst covering technology section, usually have NO technology background.

  • Early Mantle Results Support AMD's Low Power Strategy [View article]
    @xxavatarxx,
    You have right to your opinion and sure I value the Canadian team (ATi) talent pool added to AMD but going that far calling the whole team talentless is so disrespectful not to AMD but to whole engineering community including Intel engineering team.

    Thanks Tom,
    As always "right to the point" article. And yes, this is what I really like about your writing, right to the point, and supported by facts.
    One more thing: having work for both AMD and Intel and understanding both cultures, like many of my technical colleagues, I believe AMD had always had a great pool of innovative talents but never had a great visionary leadership. Rory is different and I trust he will turn around AMD.

  • Why You Should Buy AMD On The Dip [View article]
    Sean,
    Very balanced writing. I think Rory is fully in charge and he knows what he is doing.
    The key here is the fact that it takes time for a new architecture showing impact. I should congratulate the team for having once again another FIRST in industry. HSA is here now and now they can focus building platform around it and have the application support in place. This will take time so those who are looking for overnight impact, they should invest somewhere else. The longs will be most beneficial probably in a year to three. I think the foundation is in place now.

  • AMD Should Focus On Micro Servers, Not Tablets In 2014 [View article]
    Leah,
    AMD should stay on all fronts including tablets. From R&D point of view, the cost spread is almost the same (whether they work on tablets or not). The core is basically the same but the learning process is hugely beneficial no matter they get any success or not.

    As a HW architecture eng and (ex-AMD/Intel eng) , I think Rory knows well what he is doing.
    AMD had all except right management and know got a great one!

    Yet again, Ashraf is all over map when it comes to AMD. Get to the point if you have one Ashraf.

    The article is well balanced and right to the point.

  • Advanced Micro Devices Downgraded On Good Earnings - Again [View article]
    Thanks David,
    Great article based on facts. It is unfortunate that what you correctly called as "army of shorts" simply care less about facts or in most cases, twist the facts to benefit their own interest.
    As a former AMD engineer (As well as Intel), I agreed with one of major point in your article, the management! This was always a major problem for AMD but NOT anymore! Rory is a trustworthy CEO with a great record and he should be given credit for turning around AMD. Not to mention, the team you listed are the best AMD assets now.
    Mayer and Hector basically put their own interest ahead of company and stakeholder but AMD is completely new company.

  • Misinformation Concerning Verizon-Advanced Micro Devices Server Deal Clarified [View article]
    I absolutely agree with Intrinsic Value Asset Mange. Ashraf, unfortunately, is simply distracting the facts for self-benefit. I raised this issue replying to him when he first suggested that AMD should drop server effort and later when he first referred to seamicro success story. It was very clear that he, in some point, praise AMD success, simply to trash its significant. As an engineer who spent over a decades in both AMD and Intel, I suggest that he needs to understanding the design flow because otherwise, he cannot understand why a server front does not add much to R&D cost but bring huge learning experience even if design does not take off.
    He removed my comment as abuse!!!!

  • Misinformation Concerning Verizon-Advanced Micro Devices Server Deal Clarified [View article]
    Eassa,
    Not t o mention, you were the one who clearly advising AMD to drop their servers and focus on low end in order to avoid competing with Intel, right? You were also the one attacking and mocking AMD's ARM plan, right?
    As everyone remember, you trashed AMD when it was around $2 and at $4, you reply to my comment that "you are also enjoying the ride". How do you interpret it?
    And sadly, you refer my comment as "abuse" for simply because I disagree with your article twisting the facts!

    Great artclet and right to the point!

    And yes, I agree with your statement below:
    "One such person recently started posting Motley Fool articles, presumably because the editors at Seeking Alpha have higher ethical standards and would not publish those articles."

    As a matter of fact, the same person, flagged my comment as improper when I simply disagreed with his misrepresentation and twisting of facts!
