  • What Does EIA Monterey Shale Downgrade Mean To The Energy Industry? [View article]
I totally agree with rip2451 above.

Solar and Wind are kept in the picture by half truths and lies
    plus the American Tax Payer.

Best guess is in 30 or 40 years someone in private interesty,
will produce a system which will be clean, safe and much cheaper to use..

  • EOG Will Continue Its Fast Growth With The Addition Of 4 New Horizontal Development Plays [View article]
Think XOM or CHV is more likely to buy APA.
They need the crude reserves and know how to find more.

EOG has it's "plate fully" producing all the new crude it has leased now.
Could be a huge profit in selling some of those reserve acres.
Long long EOG... Will add more when price is right!!!!

  • Devon Energy: Why The Shares Are Rallying In 2014 [View article]
    Hope for the future......
"After making ~$4.25 a share in FY2013, consensus calls for Devon to make ~$5.70 in FY2014 and ~$6.30 a share in FY2015"
Also, Devon has large drilling lease in the Cline part of the Permian basin.

  • Chevron to keep big budget to boost output, in contrast to Shell's new path [View news story]
CVX's long term strategic/culture is a big plus and I agree with 353732 above.
Hopefully this will lead to long term value and increased dividends.
Maybe, RDS will find it's way with in ext couple year and keep paying the big dividend.
However, they all will have a problem of increasing their oil/gas reserves and
will probably end up buying them.

  • Chevron to keep big budget to boost output, in contrast to Shell's new path [View news story]
Seems I remember that Big Oil (XOM, CVX, RDS, BP and TOT) has always had a difficult time increasing their crude oil reserves. Buying other smaller oils has been one of their methods of growing reserves.
These E&P groups - in Big Oil- is usually made up of a group (maybe 10 or more) who make the decisions.
In the smaller E&P companies, EOG, PXD, CXO, SN,SM, XEC,
and AREX to name a few (perhaps 3 or 4 with 1 or 2 , making the final decisions) and have a good record of finding a lot of new crude oil.

  • Alaska to pitch in $5.75B for LNG export project stake [View news story]
Alaska should keep the tax-payers money at home.
Then they should help the Oil Companies bring this
project to completions without redtape and within budget.
The State Bureaucrats can be very helpful in getting all the
permits which save time and money big time.
The Oilmen are businessmen who are very savvy doing
    these projects.
The five oil companies, XOM - BP - COP and TRP are all top rated.

  • Merrill Lynch offers energy themes to watch, and stocks to capitalize, in 2014 [View news story]
We have numerous energy stocks to pick from in 2014.
Those that are bring in a lot of new crude are usually good.
Some in this category ...EOG - PXD - DVN - CXO -CLR.

Good dividend stocks with less risk ...CVX - RDS.A - TOT - BP - COP - XOM.

Hopefully, 2014 should be a good year with perhaps a sell-off or two.

I too like DVN. Long for considerable period.

Think DVN future is getting good results from
"Fracking" in the Cline and Wolfcamp.

  • Middle America Is The New Emerging Market [View article]
Seems there is much-ado about US energy renaissance giving a lot of temporary jobs that would be bad for all concerned. The shale boom has brought the USA much cheaper energy.
1st cheaper energy has always been good for our economy and all the people. The American dream has been built around cheap energy. Look at the history and cost of high energy all over the world. With our cost advantage in natural gas, the Chemical industry will be building plants and adding jobs for years. The fertilizer business (CF,MOS,POT...) will be helpful to farmers.
This will follow in new manufacturing also.
Our Government needs to be much more cooperative!

  • Middle America Is The New Emerging Market [View article]
I would like to have a list of the 96 companies that receive
80% or more of their revenues from USA.
Probably be a good list to pick a few stocks from.

  • An American Energy Revolution [View article]
My favorites are PXD, DVN CXO in the Permian Basin.
EOG in the Eagle Ford and CLR in the Bakken.
These are all good and producing more and more
new crud oil year to year. All have a future of more drilling in their respected areas.
Also, they are perfecting their fracking technique
which is very important in shale.
