  • Chinese Youth Will Propel Economic and Political Changes [View article]
...the article focuses on Chinese youth, but I'd imagine that the real drivers of demand would be their parents, who have been such great savers and so hold an immense amount of potential discretionary purchasing power, no?

  • How Big Will iPhone Gaming Be? [View article]
This is the dawn of something very big--- I keep saying it. It's the mobile aspect of iPhone: look the fact that we are no longer tethered to desktops to use all this functionality, while the list of things that it can do grows longer every day...... remember too, that we are only at the 2nd generation!
Zune? Msft has NO answer in the mobile space, and in the long run this will sink them more than anything else imo.

  • Apple's Problems - Bad to the Core? [View article]
I won't be as negative as some of the other commenters, but I'll say this: I was traveling in the western US in the couple of weeks following the 3g iPhone release, and in Seattle, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Santa Monica there were lines, long lines, outside of Apple retail stores in all these places. I was wondering when I'd ever seen lines like this outside retail outlets, and I can't remember ever having done so. And we're talking a computer/electronics retailer! Well, I may be wrong, but I think it speaks volumes.

  • Apple: Great Company with Lofty Valuation - Due for Pullback [View article]
I think Krieger is missing the significance of the foothold that iPhone has in the 'mobile space', as the jargon goes. It has no competition more than a year after its introduction, but what it certainly does have is the means to be redefined/expanded into whatever more you'd like it to be, with a couple of clicks. The App Store has seen to that. I think people are just seeing how this will change everything.
And again, Apple's vertically integrated platform has no competition because Apple owns all the parts, from hardware to the App Store.
I say hold Apple for the long term; pullbacks are just buying opportunities for this company. Just my opinion.

  • Piper Expects New Apple iMacs Tomorrow; Could Ignite Buy Interest in Stock [View article]
Is it just me, or do Macs outnumber PC laptops in every cafe you step foot in now?

  • iPhones Sold Out at Majority of Apple Stores  [View article]
Ah, you certainly do not need OS X 'to use a fully functional iPhone', sir.
Phone itself runs OS X and safari. They come with the phone. You will not miss Windows.
