  • First Republic earnings call not going well [View news story]
It means nothing, with Ficalora getting $8 plus million a year in dividends plus $17 plus million in non-exercised options and $3m per year base salary, do you think something matters to this old stodgy board? It will be business as usual.

  • Petrobras takes another government punch, Morgan Stanley downgrades [View news story]
Ahh !! Socialism at it finest. Half the country is on the dole, wanting more and more. For politicos to remain in power they suck their industries dry, stash a few bucks themselves and throw the masses a few bones until the next march on the capital. Been going on for years and will not change soon. Stay away and invest here or in the companies the government will desperately hire to keep the pumps, electric working, mines operating etc. because their five year plan ended 6 years ago.

  • Morgan Stanley starts coverage on supermarket names [View news story]
Brutal winters do a number on natural organic foods. Be careful. The folks that buy at whole foods and natural organically leave their areas for the summer vacation seasoning further dropping revenues. The se stores needed to merge with players with a plan when they were the rage. Instead lack of vision came back to bite them. Kroger has and had a plan, is all weather, good management and is consistent. The rest are fad stores that will go the way of other fads IMHO.

This is a great well run company, always with a plan. They spend their capital wisely and continues its route to growth without only acquiring but investing in infrastructure, development and expediency of these build outs.

  • Reports: Apple facing EU tax probe, building huge ad team [View news story]
It looks like governments all over the world are into the corporate money grab. Apple plays by their rules and of course they must be doing something shady. They have been scrutinized ad nauseum and have been proven not to have any improprieties. This is a typical attempt at a money grab by the politicos.

  • The World Cup: ATM Fees And Petrol [View article]
PomperJ : That's great! More for the present government to steal before going and the new socialist government to begin their bank accounts with. As long as a soccer stadium in the middle of the Amazon can be built with disguise of entertainment to the people which means few will notice the mass overages going to bank books of politicos, this country will remain emerging market forever.

  • Apple: Reevaluating My Investment [View article]
DW: great point but just remember Apple made its mark on the back of the American consumer. Granted better competition is around now but the surface has just been scratched overseas. If Apple doesn't invent it Samsung and Android based platforms can't go anywhere because they can't steal it. Good Luck

Bahia: the populace doesn't fight back because they get free stuff without doing anything. Your defining socialism and corruption in a nutshell.
Cashew king: that is what investors have stated the last 5 years. JT 401 is correct, $8 or lower especially after the election when the cronies in power fleece it to buy votes for the election.

  • Brazil's Rousseff says Petrobras critics distort facts [View news story]
Sreimer77 : your comment above is well meant and taken, but the difference is a slow death or a quick end to their miserable failed policies. Both PBR and the corrupt government are poorly managed half way houses for a power grabbing socialist agenda. Let the government buy out the company at least shareholders ( who they obviously don't care about ) can get out with some of their investments intact. This company and others like Vale etc. has become an internal national battleground, that begs capitalism to bail them out with bank loans, credit revolvers, secondaries etc.. I say free market capitalism ( I doubt it ) or take it private and put themselves on the footing they deserve.

  • Brazil's Rousseff says Petrobras critics distort facts [View news story]
Dddwmd: I agree and as I've said many times if Rouseff wants a piggy bank she should just buy PBR completely and allow the shareholders to get out at a fair price. Then her and the socialists can do what they want with the company. But we know that will not happen, she lets the capitalist end pay all the expenses, float bonds on the open market, borrow from the banks etc. while the socialists pick it clean on the back side to fulfill their agenda.
