an observation, yahoo was obviously out of favor before and after the rejection of microsoft but investors had an opportunity to exit, some of us didn't, don't blame yahoo.
also, ADT, "mouthful of nothing", I'd have loved a real explanation of what it was, but instead we got a throw away line as well.

I'm a little confused, we are talking about value / future value and how yahoo could screw it up and for some reason it is implied that JY will. But if we sit and look at it, isn't this exactly why he didn't want to sell to Microsoft? He knew there was more value to be unlocked with Yahoo, granted it is now up to management to get that word out. This piece was great for doing that, thank you Eric. Please keep us up to speed on how Yahoo does at maximizing these hidden values.
BigJames - Thank you for pointing to the omission on the valuation of their investments! I believe I had heard at one point Alibaba was what Microsoft really wanted. Maybe a sale to Microsoft and a dividend distribution, sounds like another option to me.
I found this interesting, the whole premise behind this evaluation was based on what drove Yhoo to 18ish in the first place. Therefore I'm not sure any of this means anything. BUT, I realize we don't have anything to go on but Jerry's saying Yhoo is getting its act together and will be generating new sources of revenue and shareholder value. So, the real analysis that needs done is some insight into what Yhoo might be able to accompish on the upside, not trending what the past has already shown us.
