UPS To Increase Its Dividend By 10% And Reduce Its Shares By 5% [View article]
Thank you for the article. I tend to avoid investing in companies with a strong union presence. However, due to the company's record of increasing dividends, I will look into UPS as a possible investment.

Arch,
If a dividend is not growing, then it is decreasing due to inflation. AT remains a high-risk speculative stock. I will not be surprised if AT cuts the dividend.
Buy Atlantic Power For A 10% Yield, Paid Monthly [View article]
What you get for that 10% yield: A power seller (not a utility) in a high-risk, unpredictable business; High current payout ratio with little to no dividend growth; Probability that monthly dividends will be cut and/or dividends will be paid quarterly to reduce administrative costs.

Thanks for the article. An added boost: After the Tyrant-in-Chief and his socialist-liberal minions and the cowardly Republicans grant amnesty to the millions of illegal aliens in our once-great nation, you will see an uptick in anchor babies as millions more illegals sneak across our porous borders to cut in line and steal a piece of the American pie, Obamacare, and other entitlements. Yes, the demographic factors will reverse.

"What ever happened to that potential acquisition from a few weeks ago where they would be the acquired? Anything? I thought someone offered something in the high-teens range for them?"
From what I read on online, the potential acquisition offer was a hoax.

Well written article. I also routinely calculate probabilities for potential investments and speculations, so it's refreshing to see an article using probabilities in the analysis.
Bristol Myers: Income, With A Growth Kick [View article]
Steady dividend??? Chart the annual dividend, not the quarterly div. From 2002 to 2007 the annual dividend rate stagnated at $1.12 per share. Considering inflation, the dividend was actually decreasing during those years. 2008: $1.24 11% increase 2009: $1.25 1% increase 2010: $1.28 2% increase 2011: $0.99 23% DECREASE
Steady dividend? NO Realistic dividend growth rate? NO Decent technicals? Absolutely meaningless for long-term dividend investing.

Nice article, Chuck. However, the current PE you have listed for JNJ seems to be way off. I think the current PE is around 23.9? Also, CLX should be bought only at a significant discount due to the added risk of its enormous debt load.
Exxon Mobil: Speculative Buy At $55 [View article]
Thank you for the article. Exxon's PE ratio has ranged from 9 to 21 over the past 10 years. Currently, the PE is in the 9's. This Dividend Champ is on sale and I'm a buyer.
The Social Responsibility Dividend Investor [View article]
Social responsibility dividend investing is fine for one's own individual investing style, if one chooses, and is also acceptable for mutual funds solely dedicated to this style of investing. However, I think retirement fund managers who engage in this type of "investing" using other peoples money, say like for CalPERS, ought to be fired, or better yet, jailed for misuse of funds. The sole purpose of these retirement funds is to maximize gains for its retirees, NOT to do good deeds with other people's money at the expense of growth.

As for expansion of their chocolate business, slow and steady growth wins the race.
