  • FT: EU parliament "poised to call" for Google's breakup [View news story]
In reality, the EU has only two problems with Google:

    1. They're not a European company.
    2. They're not a European company and are too successful.

  • U.S., China to liberalize tech trade [View news story]
Just another opportunity for China to crush US manufacturers by dumping their garbage below cost. Thanks, Capitulator in Cheif.

  • Delamaide: Oil prices, not Obama’s veto, may doom Keystone XL [View news story]
When did SA start importing idiocy from MarketWatch? Delamaide has no clue how this works. Price is hardly a factor here, since oil via pipeline from Canada will always be cheaper than the same heavy oil from Venezuela (which needs $100/bbl to break even) or Mexico, which are the current suppliers of heavy crude to the Gulf coast refineries, most of which are configured to refine heavy crude, not the lighter oils available from shale frackers.

Please don't pollute these pages with any more MarketWatch nonsense...

  • Buy ASML: An Emerging Monopoly [View article]
" According to Wikipedia it comes from the Greek "lithos" and means "to write." "
    The ACTUAL quote for WikiPedia:
Lithography (from Greek λίθος, lithos, "stone" and γράφειν, graphein, "to write")

If you can't even quote that correctly, why would I think anything else in this article was accurate?

This should do wonders for the black market traffic in tobacco, a major source of funds for terrorism. Thank you, nanny-state liberal idiots.

I think you mean "top" not "topple". Hire a decent proof reader.

  • Obama appoints Ebola czar [View news story]
    1. It's on the "Breaking News" page, in case you didn't notice.
    2. The market turned south immediately after the announcement, so maybe this idiotic appointment did affect market sentiment.
    3. This guy is a lawyer (represented Gore during vote count suit) and has ZERO administrative or public health experience. This appointment is an insult to every American, a political answer that clearly demonstrates that Obama thinks this is nothing more than a political issue.

  • Canada resources minister says energy security assures Keystone approval [View news story]
Perhaps because the refineries best suited to processing the heavy crude are located on the U.S. Gulf Coast? Pipelines to B.C. would have to cross the Canadian Rockies, presenting a much higher environmental risk, and even then would be shipped as crude to China (most likely). But then, I'm sure you'd rather U.S. Gulf Coast refineries keep relying on dependable suppliers like Venezuela for their heavy crude, which they ship us by tankers, whose safety record is soooo much better than pipelines. <sarcasm intended>.

", _____, having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God."

They swear allegiance to the Constitution, NOT the President.

"Then they should get some balls and resign."

Yeah, they probably should, but may not see sacrificing their career over this as worth the cost.
As for your "just following orders" remark, I fail to see the relevance. No one is suggesting that the orders are illegal, nor that they not follow them.

"where is the outrage from the top brass speaking out about this?"

I suspect they've all been told to "shut up and follow orders" or resign.

Don't worry. The VA will treat all the returning military cases. I'm sure they will do it with great care and competence (yeah, right). I think sending military just because they're available and can set up concentration - oops -isolation - camps? Just because a wrench can hammer a nail doesn't mean you should use it that way.

This sounds like a good way to bring Ebola to america and seriously damage the military at the same time.

Right. It's so much better to continue to import the heavy crude needed by the Gulf refineries from our "friends" in Venezuela and Mexico, rather than from those nasty Canadians.
