  • Microcap ETF: Hidden Gem, or Small Business Scapegoat? [View article]
    Compare the iShares Russell MicroCap ETF (IWC) to the iShares Russell 2000 SmallCap ETF (IWM) since the inception of IWC. IWC has underperformed. Compare IWC with DFA's US MicroCap Index Mutual Fund (DFSCX). Again, IWC has underperformed.

    I was elated when iShares introduced IWC and bought it the very first day it traded. I was constantly disappointed with IWC. As much as I believe IWC should be an excellent holding, it has to prove it can outperform the Russell 2000 first.
