  • Sandstorm Gold: An Uphill Battle [View article]
He probably did but is not going to admit it, anyone can short the top, cover at the bottom perfectly in hindsight especially on the internet.

I'm sure his mid to high 6's he covered for break even right before the pop.

Right, so you complain about manipulation and it only exists when gold falls but not on the way up? 12 years in a row gold's gone up, what a great "assault" on paper gold by the bankers.

  • A Premier Deal For Sandstorm Gold [View article]
Why don't you guys ask the hotshot CEO as to why he made such horrible deals?

As I said before I have been questioning the compentency of mgt but a lot of the SAND bulls still firmly believe the CEO can do no wrong based on his past...

You may be right about a lot of things regarding SAND and may be shown correct at some point but the technicals of shorting SAND are not in your favor anymore.

Anyway you joined the short PM mining party a bit late, your risk is massive with not much to gain, being short and adding short to any decent miner who is not about to go bankrupt. Any solid and experienced trader would understand this and at the moment, the play is at best to stay on the sidelines if you are not long.

If you do not know what a massive, short squeezed, rip your face off rally feels like as a short, especially if SAND behaves "normally" again, you might go through one pretty soon.

SAND made a higher high with today's very solid out performance relative to other mining stocks. The stock was lagging big time but now is starting to catch up and perform like it normally does.

We'll see if this is just a blip or a continuation of strength as the days and weeks go on.

Not necessarily. Shorting SAND while pairing it with an outperforming, better peer may be a great way to play the gold rally.

Finally a relatively good day for SAND.

Still haven't made higher highs for this cycle yet compared to its peers.

"The share price remained exactly neutral at $6.01, in a slightly upbeat market for gold mining equities."

    Slightly upbeat?

    GDXJ +4.59%
    GDX +5.55%
    FNV +3.87%
    RGLD +2.06%
    SLW +4.10%

    SAND +0.00%

SAND looks like a perfect short right now.

Silver deals are much easier to do than gold, a lot of deals SAND has made are risky and with weak companies.

SAND keeps diluting the share pool one way or another even though they have all that cash on the BS.

Relative to other miners the share price has performed very poorly since the gold capitulation bottoms, especially for SAND's standards. This shows investors/shareholders are not happy with the company, perhaps for reasons I've pointed out or for some other reasons that only the insiders know about.

You can perma bull all you want and pump up Nolan's past track record which no one is disputing, but today's facts, reality and most of all, price are saying Management is currently doing a poor job.

can we stick with facts and reality rather than the typical perma-bull bias and conspiracy theories from the tinfolil hat crowd?

Sandstorm management continues to destroy shareholder value by making poor decisions and diluting the share pool. Shareholders are not happy and it is reflected in the share price movement.

It's just a theory, an opinion as to why at least part of the reason the shares have been underperforming so bad. You can feel free to debunk it all you like.

Other than the poor earnings and iffy streams, management may be trying to keep the stock down since they have written so many warrants. They need to cap the price in hopes of the warrants can expire worthless.

Sandstorm gold is underperforming today yet again, showing that it has truly lost its lustre and place as a leader for small caps.

Smart investors have had enough of Sandstorm and their BS.
