  • Exelon: A Safe Haven In This Market? [View article]
Weak holders? I tell you I have held this stock since I bought at $45. I just sold it all. There are many many more qualified companies with which to place my hard earned dollar. I can recoup my loss quite easily and never look back.

  • Michigan subpoenas Ferrellgas in probe of propane price hikes [View news story]
You are funny. I bet if you were shopping in any store and you grabbed an item off the shelf that, say, was price marked 2.69, and when you got to the cash register it was now 4.09. You asked why. You were told the supplier just raised the price so now you pay more. Funny. You say ok, I don't want you to run out of this item so I'll gladly pay more. Its called price gouging and its illegal. That's why gas stations all go UP together. They don't want to be sued for price gouging.

Law of supply and demand does not compute when you call a propane supplier and they quote you a price, but, after filling your tank they bill you at a higher price. Or the supplier who won't give you a price at all before they come out to fill your tank, but will only give the price while standing with the nozzle at your tank. Gotcha. What do you do? Tell them to take it back? No. You got no heat. Its -10 and you have a family. Prices were rising at a doubling rate with the excuse of dwindling supply, but interestingly, no suppliers were ever out of the fuel.

  • Yahoo Needs To Invent A Useful Everyday Product To Be Relevant In The Long Term [View article]
IMHO I find Yahoo very useful. I got to this site using Yahoo after all. What do you think it needs? A Y-phone? I rarely use Google and I never use Bing (MSN). I get my email, finances, news, blogs, sports, search and much more from Yahoo. Their apps work fine too. I bought Yahoo stock a long time ago, rode it down but didn't sell. Now I am reaping some gains. Managers and CEO's are not miracle workers but I think Ms. Mayer is tackling this elephant by the tusks.

  • Dow: Time To Say Goodbye To Non-Performers [View article]
When times are tuff the tuff get going. Midland has always prospered due to the presence of the Dow Chemical company. It will never change. Unfortunately, the common man workforce has dwindled from what it once was, replaced with more affluent positions. But those affluent positions keep the common man employed elsewhere in town. Capitalism at work. Dow always bounces back. Check its past. I am lucky to live in a city that will always be in the Dow's good graces.

Dow also offed its Dow/Kokam battery plant after taking money from Obama to build it. Never hired the number of employees it stated would be hired. Soon it will be an extra large empty building in Midland. They even changed the streets around to accomodate the traffic to the plant. What a waste of taxpayer money.

Well, I like to follow the "big" (aka MS etc..) guys and watch what they do. IMHO if MS says to sell then I buy. Opposites are attractive. I figure they want me to sell so they can buy back in, cheap, and that's usually what happens. EXC isn't a fly-by-night. Also, the almanacs say its gonna be a long hard winter in the east and most of the country.

  • Ferrellgas: A Balloon Ready To Pop [View article]
The author appears to submit that this company runs wild, has no business acumen, no lawyers on tap, no idea of what supplies cost, no business plan, and no accountants on board. This is tip of iceberg. Is there a business out there that is not taking into account the health care fiasco, the accounting of retirement plans into the future, the unknown of the Obama downturn of business due to his dislike of fuels from the earth? After reading his comments I have come to the conclusion he has NEVER owned/run a business. Unlike the whimsy of blowing winds or sunny days, propane (a product of natural gas) will be constant unless our potUS stops all drilling.
