  • Amarin Makes A Potentially Attractive Medium-Term Investment [View article]
    Chenz,
I haven't been responded to either. We have no corporate protection at all. We needed a big shareholder who can get on the board and fire Joe. Yet, I haven't heard one meeting where they are even investigating him for wrong doing.

    Gatlingg,
Exactly, why isn't Joe being investigated by the board to see if there was wrong doing? Like a regular company? He purchased a lousy 100K worth of shares and people were clapping, he sold 25 or 30 times that in the last year and a half.

I would jump back in Amarin if management was fired. The problem I had with this article is the author doesn't mention he class action lawsuits wonderful management got is into. That isn't going to be cheap to fight.

You know the kicker? How much do you want to bet that the reason Joe and Thero purchased shares were because the legal team we are paying for suggested it to look like they had our best interests in mind.

Yes your honor Joe sold a lot of stock but these were timed sales and he believed in the company so much that he purchased 100k shares. But didn't Joe sell millions, we take the fifth,

To me you sum trip well, how can you cut he sales force but grow scripts? I lost on this but got out because it became painfully clear to meJoe didn't get it diner. The board has a lousy seven members which Joe is one. Why wasn't he fired? He won't be.

He purchased a lousy 100k worth if shares when he sold millions all the while we were losing? We don't have a big enough investors tot grow management out. For those of you that believe in Amarin look not at what Joe says but what Joe has done.

Sell his shares, get rich, tell you now he is going to fight the FDA. Huh?

  • Amarin CEO Makes Significant Withdrawals From Shareholder Value Account [View article]
There is no way in hell I would have done what Joe did. I would have partnered if possible, and I wouldn't of told people that they need to be in the thirties for a buyout. Come on, the board is made up of a lousy 7 people and Joey is one of them.

He won't be fired, but what has he done? He didn't close the deal, he didn't make it happen. Firing is the only option but tell me how in the world that will happen?

Some Amarin longs I believe would let Joe take a dump in their living room and say what a wonderful dump that was. HUH? He didn't deliver, he needs to go.

What I find interesting is the stock is in the toilet and it seems people just defend the company to the end. Look at the facts, the stock price just cut sales force I. Half but sales will grow? Really? If you believe that open a store hire one person to work eight hours a day and leave the store open the other sixteen hours watch what happens.

  • Amarin Investor Discontent Turns To Mutiny [View article]
The question I have that no one seems to answer is how will they fire Joey? The board is small, Joe is on the board. I haven't heard one call for him to go from management or the board.

The problem is that big investors don't own parts of this company, what I mean is active big investors. Do you think Warren Buffet would have put up with this fiasco of not launching a salesforce right away? Do you think he wouldn't have pushed for Joe's ouster which I conveyed on these pages since May of 2013.

In fact, most respondents told me that my hatred for Joey as I call him was clouding my judgment. Really? Really? Really?

I like to add one more point, which is when approval came in July 2013, Joey and team wasn't prepared. As if they were, they would of had a deal in place or a partnership. They had neither :(.

  • The Red Flags And Resulting Lessons From The Fall Of Amarin [View article]
    Johnrell,
They just fired or laid off half the salesforce, how in the world can they keep growing by laying off the people that are selling? Without the cash coming in from the sales, cashflow goes farther and farther down, and we have serious problems.

Even if we argue that 130 reps that 50 were terrible, the other 80 were selling. If they get rid of that many which I believe they did we are left with two sales representatives on average for each state. Do you know GSK and others have 2 reps in a city? I wish Joe could go to jail but incompetency isn't a jailable offense. As I think BP will purchase this company cheap. They will make a winner out of this, but the investors will have taken a beating.

    Chenz,
I concur with you Joe and many of the company heads need to go. Joe didn't really have a successful record and it is why I should of sold last year. He wasn't at Reliant when the deal was done. He left the company two months before Reliant even approached with a written offer.

I will never invest with Joe again, and think if a company hires them, all they need to do is look at his monster ego and how he handled this abysmal mess. Part of management as you know is to mitigate risk. It is like playing chess at his level.

He didn't even see the possibility that Anchor would be in trouble. HUH? Don't we at least factor that in 30% or so as a probability and have a plan? But who am I kidding when did Joe ever plan? Look no further than the launch of this drug. He waited and waited, and waited wasting months, and cash. At the last minute we will have a salesforce in two weeks yeah!! HUH????

I lost a ton, hope you didn't but I have learned here and learned well.

  • The Red Flags And Resulting Lessons From The Fall Of Amarin [View article]
    Sts66,
Your right on, the problem is Amarin will be bankrupt when it comes to actually winning the suit. Let's say 3 years to get through the courts, and I am being optimistic.

I think the most telling thing I missed Gold is like you I ignored that management made those huge sales in July. Now with Joey cutting half the sales staff, to me the only savior will be BP with pennies on the dollar.

I agree with many points of this article but I also believe 100% that Joey and company (as you alluded to) let their egos get in the way. How can you have a new drug and waste half a year to bring it to market? The board which I have posted on before is to small and isn't independent. They let Joe be in charge which is what he loves. Did you see the wonderful bonuses each member of management received in December 2012? They flubbed a launch, and they all got over 100% bonuses, come on....but again I ignored that as a warning sign as well.

Don't believe me about the board, name one person from Amarin except half the sales force that has been fired? It is almost impossible to launch a salesforce, and make great strides in marketshare when you don't have the cash of BP backing you.

I am not retelling the tale, I stupidly knew to sell but didn't until I was 22K in the hole. The signs were all there and thank you for the article. There is a fear and it might be real if Reduce it completes and it if found that lowering Trigs does nothing to reduce heart attacks or death the game is over.

It is a big gamble, as Jellis showed great numbers but didn't show in my understanding of it that lowering trigs lead to better outcomes.

Books will be written or cases at least alluding to the idiocy at the top of this company. I often said and didn't sell (that was on me), that Joe and company was playing with fire with BP. They thought they could get BP to pay 40.00 a share, come on. The company would have to be worth about five billion to six billion dollars.

Remember Joe's comments (this is when I should of gotten out, hindsight) that he knows BP is serious if they are offering $36.00 a share that would be a great starting point I believe he said.

Anyhow, why not take even back in November $16.00 a share if that is a real number, no more risk to investors. Get the hell out, and let the big guns fight the FDA and the salesforces do the job. No need to take terrible loan, do a second offering etc. All the risk is gone, some say the reward and upside would be gone as well. Yet, many people at $16.00 a share would have been well compensated as I know many that got in at 3.00, 4.00 etc.

If BP purchases Amarin it will be in my view pennies on the dollar. Amarin doesn't have the upperhand, and they are bleeding money. You might see them partner, but to me the only way a miracle could happen and this be turned around is two things. One management needs fired, I said this in August and got beat down by the boards. Secondly, Reduce it has to be wonderful.

Very soon they should be able to start collecting data and see midpoint if there is any correlation if they kill that trial at the end of 2014, its over.

I hope all you didn't lose as much or more than I did I truly do. Hard lesson to learn, but like QTR says volume, volume.

  • Bogle Says Social Security Is Fixed Income [View article]
    Robert,
I am unsure of your point is. Some people get more than they pay in, some people like my brother may he RIP pay in and get no return.

Social Security is called and entitlement is it not? How is it an entitlement, you pay in meet the threshold and get your return so I am not sure of your point.

Hindsight as you know in investing is 100 percent, it all depends on the economy, rate of return etc.

  • Vivus Won't Be Fixed Overnight, But Here's A Plan [View article]
I am a bag holder in Amarin and Vivus is similar story. Good product but poor execution. Need bodies to sell the dugs, need big money to call On physicians. I personal think some biotechs just think that BP will pay whatever they want as BP needs them.

In reality we need each other. There is n reason a partnership in my view couldn't be comments for both companies. I hope Joey over at Amarin is starting to get concerned that he might be forced out if he doesn't commence a deal. Sure we want to make money but sometimes human greed reminds of the person I bought a rare toy off EBay that she got for five dollars at an auction (it was a steal)She sold it to me a month later for 1399.00 a return that is wonderful. She actually emailed me to tell me the shipping cost was higher than anticipated and wanted to know if I would send her another fifteen dollars.

Are you kidding me? Greed is unbelievable, it seems humans or some humans want more and more. Get a nice return for shareholders. Anyhow I digressed....
