  • Exxon Mobil (XOM +0.4%) says it has yet to excavate the area around an Arkansas crude oil pipeline rupture that spilled ~12K barrels of crude during the weekend. Cleanup efforts are continuing as the pipeline remains shut. Digging down to the pipeline breach is a critical step in assessing damage and determining how and why it ruptured. [View news story]

The cash on hand argument is sometimes mistaken for reinvestment. Reinvestment is subjective in analysis. GMCR has come this far and in the long term it will own the single service coff/ tea market..

  • SodaStream (SODA -3.5%) sees a little extra trading volatility after its initial Super Bowl is sent back to the company by CBS for being "too provocative" toward the bottle soda industry (KO, PEP, DPS, COT). Despite being forced to go with a back-up ad, the publicity from the rejection may end up helping the company and promote its David vs. Goliath image. [View news story]

  • A chart broken out by The NPD Group shows the stark difference in growth rates for the traditional coffee sector versus specialty coffee in the U.K. While traditional coffee has lost close to half of its market share of total foodservice purchases over the last four years, specialty sales have shot the other way to account for close to 12% of the group's total. It's a trend that suggests Green Mountain Coffee (GMCR -0.7%) may hold up just fine against single-serve competitors such as Kraft Foods and J.M. Smucker. [View news story]
    I agree wen.
This market in single servings is getting crowded..
How long can they hold out is the real question..
I would like to see a m/a between them and Sodastream....I believe that soda can put a few different ideas on marketing that green mountain may not have thought of or can afford..

  • SodaStream - New Buzz For An Old Brand - Will The Fizz Last This Time? [View article]
Well, a lot of these sales of soda stream could have been a bundle type deal.
You know they throw in the licensing agreement along with other equities to sell the deal. Well a smart product development team has effectively marketed it's benefits. That the good news.

But much like the fossil fuel business. Pepsi and coke won't stand for much erosion of their market share. before they buy soda stream. That is why they call it a fad . market share is bought back by the status que..

I own shares in SODA. I have been writing CC on them since may 12. The company itself seems to have considerable grow left in the stock price but it will hit the high then drop back down. Like clock work.

Is this the results of the short positions? If so will there be an indication in the technicals that will reveal a higher stock price?
