  • BBM Spin-Off Could Create Short Exodus [View article]
I'm not familar with a survey but the numbers I am aware of:
100k+ fake BBM apps downloaded in a few hours
10billion text message/day vs whatsapp 30billion, indicating it is far more engaging product.
So there appears to be evidence indicating interest in a superior product.
fyi I dont use any messaging devices but like to use facts to base investment decisions upon....I'm long BBRY.

Yep, just like BES10 enterprise services, it can manage iphones and androids but works best with BB10, all the more reason to by BB10 phones.

  • BlackBerry: Buy Now Or Buy It Cheaper Later? [View article]
My point is BBM achieved 1/3 of WhatsApps messaging total with it only being available on <4% of phones out there! Its clearly far more engaging to users.

What do you think will happen to the number of users and messages sent/day when its released on Android and iOS? Do you seriously expect no significant market gains?

re: it is just another app and suffers from any security risks

Seeing as BBM is tightly integrated into BES10 it would be a huge incentive for enterprise users to abandon other insecure messaging apps and jump onboard with BBM.

The Z10 rates highest at consumer review websites, much higher than iphone and galaxy.

The only people trashing BB10 are 'media experts' and their peanut galley of BB basher followers that never tried the product and never will.

If you dont believe me go check out cnet.com .

    re: to purchase struggling corporations

Increasing sales. No debt. New products just released that will take them through the next 5-10 years. Competition past their prime.

Wish I was 'struggling' like Blackberry.

The increasing sales doesn't help the doom and gloomers story much either.

Yeah, those increasing sales figures and new products lines sound like a company with no future to me too.

re: BBM is essentially an upstart that hasn't hit the market

WhatsApp 30 billion text messages a day
BBM 10 billion text messages a day

Wish I could 'updsart' like that.

  • Making Sense Of The BlackBerry Takeover Talk [View article]
re: Obviously the one company that comes to mind is none other than Lenovo

The Canadian Federal government has to sign off for this deal to happen. One of their stipulations is whether it will lose jobs for Canada.

Would Lenova buy BB so Canadians and Mexican can continue manufacturing phones for them.....c'mon gimme a break, we all know those jobs would be gone in a heartbeat and every Canadian politician wouldn't support that, its a no brainer for them and they have nothing to gain by supporting the deal either.

In addition, Blackberry chose North America to manufacture phones, not Asia, to maintain its top notch security rating. Producing the phones in China would throw their security reputation in the toilet, and with it one of their greatest assets. The US DoD choose BB10 and BES10 for this reason.

re: college dorms not in Pentagon certifications or not in countries outside US?

Well said....dont forget the article from a few weeks ago where they asked some guy in a mall who said his outlet wasn't selling so BB was doomed, every mainstream media outlet published this like it was gospel.

Yeah, all those enterprise clients should just throw all their current contract commitments in the garbage for those 2 year old phones and rush down to the mall to buy the latest toy, who has time to wait for contracts to expire or products to reach the end of a 3 year life cycle? Lemme guess, your American, that appears to be the way you guys do business nowadays?

  • The Z30 And Phablet Market Could Be BlackBerry's Savior [View article]
Agreed. The carriers are creating this duopoly....and will likely pay a price for putting all their eggs in 2 baskets. Salesmen will go out of their way to sell customers iphones after they initially ask for BB10 phones now, BB advertising helps but the carriers ultimately decide what to sell at their stores.
