  • BlackBerry's Reincarnation Won't Be Exciting But It Might Be Profitable [View article]
Considering the press they get for every company that just 'holds off' upgrading to bes10 (not even leave it) I'ld say pr releases disclosing real data is a great idea. Time to go on the offensive and not simple respond to these lame atacks.

Makes sense why the USA wants to drive this company into the ground, they cant spy on everyone easily if they're using BB10 phones.

You're a perfect indication as to why BB needs to work on its marketing.....they have the most modern OS and consumers in the USA think 7 year old dinosaurs like ios and android are newer.

Agreed, time to go on the offensive, not just reacting to every cheap shot that comes their way.

re: Linux to surpass QNX in car infotainment by 2020:

Analysts and experts have been proclaiming Blackberry is going out of business every week for the past 3 years and you expect us to value an IT prediction for 2020?!

These experts couldn't predict yesterdays weather when it comes to Blackberry, its clear they have an agenda, no one could have such a poor track record if they gave an honest effort.

  • BlackBerry - Smartphone Hardware Business Needs To Be Jettisoned, And Fast [View article]
re: Based on what exactly? A poll of BlackBerry shareholders?

How about a poll of consumers who actually own the phones? Check out cnet.com , consumers rate BB10 phones higher than iphone and galaxy phones.

The only people trashing BB10 are the 'expert's in the media and the peanut gallery of iSheep and Fandroids out there.

Yep, BB10 not even 1 year old !

This was a much better start than MS, Google and Apple phones accomplished.

Looking forward to a mature 2 year old OS in its prime competing against some bloatware dinosaurs...the roles are being reversed from 5 years ago.

Good point. They can flood enterprises with BB10 phones at a loss, their real cash cow is BES10, extremely high margins that keep on giving every year.

re: metrosexual must have Instagram crowd

Now if only BB could dumb down their products enough so those users could jump on board...might take another couple years of apple/android copying their UI before they can comprehend BB10

  • Chen: BlackBerry to be focused on enterprise going forward [View news story]
With full Google OS support coming you can have the best of both worlds, be you a teenager/20ish gamer/social addict or a professional that doesn't live off your parents.

  • Chen: BlackBerry to be focused on enterprise going forward [View news story]
re: See Morgan Stanley and Pfizer.

They put off upgrading, they have not switched to another enterprise security service provider. whoop-tee-doo (said in monotone voice inflexion)

Perhaps MS and Pf know something the US DoD, NATO and leaders like Obama and Merkel don't know about security?

Gimme a break, who are they going to switch to, some Apple fanboys with some start up MDM provider that hasn't turned a profit yet? Hilarious.

  • Where Will The New BlackBerry Be In 2014? [View article]
Great research, too bad you couldn't apply the same for the consumer ratings and refute my data.

If I changed from a long to a short id'ld take a huge hit, but I'm still long, a position few people are capable of doing nowadays, most people think 6 months is 'long' now.

Being in IT I thought 4 years would be required to roll out and mature a new OS, just like it happened for apple and android and probably ms too, and just like the BB of the past I expect android and apple OS's to collapse under a pile of bloatware when they are 8 years old, while newer os's pass them by, and then the cycle starts again.

My thesis is still in tack and based upon the recent history of bb, apple, and android. Following Prem Watsa's typical 4 year investment strategy is comforting too.

BB10 isn't even 1 year old, why the media and BB critics expect them to compete or compare them to apple and android is beyond me, its clear they are applying a double standard as apple, android and ms started poorly in their first year as well.
