    I believe a big reason for the rise in the price of gasoline, even in the midst of declining demand, is the decline of the dollar. The dollar is the world's reserve currency. Any change (decline) in its value makes any dollar-denominated goods sell for more dollars per unit. This is a big factor, rarely discussed.
